MACCMODE Drool
how and why is this any better than kontakt 1 much less kontakt 2
1) FAR better interpolation than either (and I've tested that) - load a bass sample in and play a few pitches. SC eats the others for breakfast Smile

2) Sample and loop editing is much less fiddly (all those extra editing windows in kontakt, scrolling up and down etc etc)

3) Much better group handling - this is always a fiddly operation (separating your kicks and snares for example), but much less so in SC than Kontakt - either version

4) effects - Kontakt's fx are bog standard - capable of some decent things etc, but they are just standard effects. When it comes to properly fucking your sound in the rear orifice with a 16" dildo, SC has effects such as Morder OD, the slewer, and loads more.

5) Individual sample treatment - either inside the sampler or in an external editor - is much more fluid in SC.

6) Cost - I never use the supplied stock sounds that come with anything. Why would I want to pay an extra £150 for a load of sounds I will never use?

7) Development - send claes an email or message on the forum, he will listen to your thoughts and implement them if possible.

There's plenty more things just to do with the workflow and so on (and let's not get onto k2's 85 billion VST outputs which you can't get rid of and can't route to Roll ), and of course there are a few foibles about SC as with all software.

However I have used both/all three extensively, and for the way I work, for what I do, and for what I want, Short Circuit fits the bill perfectly.

Smile

Oh - edit - 8 ) - SC's snap to zero function in the editing windows ACTUALLY SNAPS TO ZERO. Roll
As Macc says..and yeah it's in my cubase template i use it ALL the time.

Easy to work with and the filters/fx are very good imo.

Homerdrool
is the new one out now?
Not yet, but he's said the ETA is Xmas this year Hyper

I have the alpha version and it is Homerdrool (bar the usual alpha teething stuff).
