Went to a party last night and it was all good.
My mate started off the tunes, and they were niiiiice, mellow, but niiiiice. We were only in a pub anyway.
Then some other guys started playing and it started getting harder.
Then it got silly.
I am sorry to say that after months of avoiding it, I have now heard the infamous 'slayer' tune, the one that heavily samples Slayer's Reigning Blood.
Oh dear.
So the poll for the weekend (weekend polls, remember them Macc?) is do you leave parties if the music is shoite?
It's happened to me too many friggin times that I've had to leave the party, cuz the music's been crap and it has killed my party vibe.
That is why hardly ever go to d&b parties anymore (been like once or twice this year, not for many months now).
Yeah.....i'd leave it it started sucking ass, but its nothing to do with standards...its more the vibe killing nature of shite music. If your at a party usually its the atmosphere that keeps everything ticking over...once that goes the party is down the drain.......
There's nothing worse than the sun coming up to 200bpm noiscore gabba.
Suffering jesus its horrible......
I miss the times when I wasn't too picky about D&B.....now I'm just bored with 90% of the D&B out there.
I have a huge respect for the people who organize parties in Finland (big up all those hard-working peeps!), but the style of D&B I hear here doesn't please me anymore. Maybe I'm getting old and grumpy, but I am so bored with the average 2-stepping stuff. For example, I checked out "Vault" by Pendulum, cuz ppl have been wild about it. I gotta say that track SUCKS.
I want to go to parties where I can party to d&b with proper breaks....where did they go....the "average development" of d&b has been sad. I wonder if I'm ever gonna dance again
I don't mean extremems like your gabba noiscore example, I mean right in the middle of the party, and almost everyone else is enjoying it....
I walked out of Derrick may when he played in Oslo last weekend.... I was massively dissapointed with his tune selection.....
got a tasty burger on the way home though, so not all bad :burgerman:

i have left places early before, nothing worse when things go all shit and you have paid good money to be there

Well, I'd like to say I doubt you'll be leaving early, but I haven't seen him so I don't know.
Be sure to vote upon your return though.

If the company doesn't make up for the music... then yes, I'd be out of there. Call me a musical snob if you like...

Word up. I'm also the type of person who goes to the club for music. If the music is shoit, I go home.

Here....actually when you say party are you talking about it in the american sense where you pay into it and its an organised thing or just a house party / in the woods and its free party ????
Because there is a difference....oh a BIG difference.

It was a birthday party in a pub, and it was free to get in to.

What the bloody hell am I supposed to remember????
?
I voted yes, because I always stay til the end if I am having a good time, regardless of the music. However I went somewhere *for the music* the other day and was bored, then we left (innit j, dice) before the end. Cos, indeedy, the music was shoite.
anyone you wanted to bone in there ??
if so, might be worth sticking it out.
errrrr as in staying the course.
i tired with most drum and bass at the moment really, one big two step fest.
