Few left to work out, thought i'd post them, see if anyone can help?
[amoff]
fabio id 1.mp3[/amoff] ID'd: [amoff]Steve Gurley - Sensual Sacrifice[/amoff]
[indent]only a short intro on this, any clues?[/indent]
[amoff] fabio id 2.mp3[/amoff] ID'd: [amoff]Justice & Tertius - Asylum Seeker[/amoff]
[indent]marked in my notes as similar to 'Metropolis', but obviously not that...[/indent]
[amoff] groove id 3.mp3[/amoff] ID'd: [amoff]Noise & Paradox - Soundrack For The 10th Planet (Esoteric Funk Mix)[/amoff]
[indent]Ok, so its Grooverider... but anyhow, tune by Paradox, would assume its released[/indent]
[amoff] groove id 4.mp3[/amoff]
[indent]This one i think is a German track?[/indent]
[amoff] fabio id 5.mp3[/amoff] ID'd: Duke 357 - "Persona" !! [amoff] http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/12362/tough_luck/tl003[/amoff]
[indent]Now I've posted this one before before, but no ideas so far other than maybe Source Direct, its the one with the rolling funky mule break and crazy 18/4 time signature that is really quite disconcerting, yet utterly funky and compelling. Really need to know what it is. Wouldn't be surprised if unreleased.[/indent]
(the one at the end I have figured out, its [amoff] Torus - Contours[/amoff])
[amoff] fabio id 6.mp3[/amoff] Full ID: Inner-Vation - "Dischord" [amoff] http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/9167/phatt_phunk/pp002
[indent]Piano reminicent of Dillinja 'Warrior Jazz', not him though[/indent]
[amoff] fabio id 7.mp3[/amoff] ID'd:[amoff] Tony D - Walk Like A Man (Hidden Agenda Remix)[/amoff]
[indent]This is a Hidden Agenda remix of something, but so far unable to work out what... vocals go something like "everyday staying strong... you left us standing in the cold..."[/indent]
[amoff] fabio id 8.mp3[/amoff]
[indent]Guardians Of Dalliance?[/indent]
[amoff] fab & groove id 9.mp3[/amoff] ID'd: [amoff]Natural Mystic & Futurebound - Solar Level [/amoff]
[indent]sounding like a Digital tune to my ears, or possibly Spirit...[/indent]
EXTRA ID, from the [amoff] other other[/amoff] thread:
[amoff] unknown jazz stepper feb 1999.mp3[/amoff] ID'd: [amoff]Flying Fish - Theme[/amoff]
NEW BONUS! From 1996 - [amoff] this[/amoff] show:
[amoff] "killer beat" fab181096 2.mp3[/amoff]
Bookmarked for when I get home, so I don't forget to check them
id3 is Noise & Paradox "Soundrack for the 10th planet", from their "Transmograpfication" LP.
Checked also the rest of clips, but can't recognize any of them.
Thanks, I had a feeling it might have been from that 1997 album when Statto posted about it the other week, never actually come across that album myself though. Cheers!
fabio id 2 is Asylum Seeker on this release:
http://www.discogs.com/Justice-And-Terti...ease/94809
12 for sale from £2
I used to have a 2nd copy of this but I think i sold it
I recognise a couple of the others but not sure what they are. I certainly haven't got them.
Thanks mate! Which were the ones you thought you recognised?
I'll update the main post.
ID4 sounds very Optical or Matrix-esque from 97.
ID5 they played at Tribal Gathering 97 live on Radio 1 or Kiss. Would love to know this. I get a feeling it's possibly Primary Source (Danny C) or someone like Carlito.
ID7 track before it is better
ID8 not a remix of their Oddly track?
More to the point Ornette, where can I get such Fabio sets? Would love to get my hands on them for the memories... memories of me stupidly recording over shows with new shows. Meh.
Wilshy Wrote:ID4 sounds very Optical or Matrix-esque from 97.
Yeah I think your right. Some of the sounds are very similar to optical's- hi tek dreams
Def sounds like someone from that camp, optical, matrix, trace, fierce...
id 6 sounds like jack smooth to me, unreleased tune?
where can we d/l some of these sets?
Wilshy Wrote:ID7 track before it is better
You mean Roni Size - Only A Dream?

This one is Digital from memory - I don't have my vinyl here to double check, but I remember it as this : http://www.discogs.com/Natural-Mystic-On...ease/19588

6 and 8 were the other two sounded familiar.
Although, 8 isn't on any of the Guardians of Dalliance releases, so if it is a remix then it was never released as far as I'm aware.

I'm pretty certain the week before he played and said it was from Germany or something, there was no voiceover I caught for it this time round (22/8/97). Pretty certain its not any of the ones you have mentioned...
Had a listen but sorry didn't know any more. I like ID04 though, If it is German then the 'Precision Breakbeat Research' label might be worth a look.

Are you sure it's Asylum Seekers? I have Justice's "The Greatest Hit" album http://www.discogs.com/Justice-The-Great...ease/44603 and Asylum Seekers from that album sounds completely different. Maybe fabio id2 is the flipside of the release you posted, "Chains"?

If it is then my record is etched incorrectly as I checked the groove to make sure
DJ ML Wrote:id 6 sounds like jack smooth to me, unreleased tune?
where can we d/l some of these sets? Jack Smooth actually turned up and started posting on a forum quite recently! I could certainly pop it over to him, see if he knows anything about it.
Wilsh & ML:
unfortunately I don't really have any full sets for download! Most of my recordings were done pause & record, and even then I would over dub bits using the tape counter... these clips were done up to 10 years ago when I went through and encoded the bits I wanted for posterity. Your best bet is to head over to [amoff] this thread[/amoff] and ask there, a couple of the guys have been doing sterling work sorting out a lot of these shows, & I'm pretty certain deepinside has a bunch he has not posted yet.
of course anyone on here who's still got some tapes left could always rip to mp3 and share up!

I know where you mean re Jack Smooth, could be worth an ask!
Re tapes, I'll have to get over to that thread..

Turns out it was actually this: [amoff] http://www.rolldabeats.com/release/timel...ngs/dj032/ another Natural Mystic tune
Did you ever manage to have any luck with [amoff] this[/amoff]?
Edit: Nice one Naptha, as well!

Thanks Extreme
I had wondered if it might've been something on Gyration but now you've said Precision Breakbeat Research thats sounding like a much better lead
Ah cool, Solar Level! Was sure I had it once upon a time!
