If anyone is interested i wrote a database for my vinyl collection , its not that great but it does what its says on the tin,

you will need access 2000 or above to use it

Its a bit crap looking but it has a load of labels and artists already in there and also has reports so you can create a web page catalouge, or a list of tracks you want to sell

i must say its very cheap looking

adding new artists and lbels is a bit cheap and nasty too, but its a building block that maybe can be made better if any one here can use access, i just don't have the time to update it at the mo

thank you very much...I was actually about to get myself into access for the very purpose of db'ing my collection...thank you again...I'll let you know in a couple of years time how it went transferring

its good for ebay as well if you use the querys that i have put in there, basicaly i have put a tick box in there saying "for sale" each one you tick will appear in the query when run so you can do quick lists for web sites etc
