Midi problems in nuendo 2

the prog loads up great, it works fine with normal audio files (wavs etc) but when i add a vst and try to use with my midi keyboard i get no sound. however when i add a vst like dahornet which has a keyboard on the actual vst i get sound (from the keyboard on the vst). i have made sure my midi keyboard is set to active and you can see the midi data is clearly there from the picture below, so why no sound? i have the same probelm in cubase...no such problems in acid, reason, logic etc. any ideas? im using an audiophile 2496 soundcard and radium 49 midi keyboard.

Answer: Don't have DOA open when using music software

Umm, that pic doesn't clearly show that midi data is there If the VSTi is getting midi, the little light between the W(rite) button and the patch name will flicker with note ons and note offs.

Anyway, if all your other apps are playing the midi game properly, then double check your VST connections page (might be different in Nuendo That's what it is in Cubase).

Does the midi activity light on the transport bar flicker when you hit the keys? If not then it's yer inputs.

It's not quite clear though - are you saying that you have drawn a load of midi data on the track and it still refuses to play? Or is it only when you play 'for real' with your keyboard?

One other thing would be to go to the Nuendo forums and search for 'emulated midi port filter' and see what that says
