Paranormal .... (Blue is not allowed to post in this thread)

OK so whats the thoughts of paranormal activity on here then ? As most probably know i am a firm believer in spirits affecting our day to day life.

What do you think ? Is there a scientific explination for poltergeists/apparitions ??

Yeah, there is a scientific explanation for all of it; just this year we have made lots of advances in mapping out our sensory connections to perception parts of the brain, but I am late for a meeting so can't explain...Goku! Kenoshito, Than...? Help! Back tonight to explain (don't kill me for this Blue!)

i ain't afraid of no ghosts ..... man that opening scene with the old women in the library used to scare me shitless i have never been so scared since.

I have experienced things in the past, some of which i can shrug and use some excuse to forget it others i am not so lucky and have been left with lingering thoughts about 'what the hell happened' ?

I used to use a Ouija board regularly when i was 15-16ish during this time we experienced a variety of things from light bulbs exploding to mysterious phone calls with no one on the other end of the line just crackling.

The weirdest but funniest was one time when we thought we had lost contact with a spirit and were asking for some sign that he was still with us, next thing we know the big expensive Kenwood stereo my friend owned which was postioned next to us switched itself off and back on again and the welcome message came up. Ok i accept this is amusing but you have to remember this was the only electrical appliance in the house that lost power there was no power cut and apparently it hadn't happened before, kinda weird i guess but the cynical among us will always come up with a counter arguement that states a very simple excuse to what happened.

Don't get me wrong the point of this thread is not to convince everyone there is some form of supernatural force out there i just wanted to see people's thoughts and explain some of what i have experienced.

by any chance - were u prompted to post after watchin Soprano's on channel4?

I'd like to beleive in ghosts and stuff like that, but I have no experience. Have you heard of these 'doctors' that mentally cut your body up and remove lumps and stuff? My background is quite religious like, and my old folks r into all that kinda stuff - my Grandfather went to see one of these doctors, I've forgotten his name but I read a book about him, I'll try and hunt it out on the weekend - I think the guy is called Stephen Turing or something. Basically, he 'absorbs' this spirit doctor who is on a higher plane of vibration and makes quick movements with his hands, he doesn't physically cut you up, but you do get cut somehow if things are being removed from your body and you see cotton wool soaked with blood. People go to him for all kinds of health problems, when my grandfather went he took a camcorder with him so we've got it on film, but ain't seen it in years.

A lot of people don't believe it, but I think I do - I think some people are just living in this bubble that shields them from everything not 'normal' - and if anything goes against that bubble, its all defences up. Thing is all of our roots comes down to a few people who were in the forest/jungle/desert/whatever depending on location/climate and they did things the non-technological way cos there was no technology, just because we have technology now, it doesn't mean we should reject the non-technological ways of doing things. It doesn't really matter where you originate from, but the chances are that your ancesters were like aztec/nubian/celtic/greek/aryan-dravidian/ etc... and all these cultures have some kind of spiritualism attached to it - it doesn't matter whether you believe in god or not, but there's definitely that kinda edge on it. going on too much, laterz...

No i haven't seen that Soprano's yet but i will have to make an effort to watch it now.

I posted after a converstion with Blue the other day about it as he is a big non believer, he thinks your born, you live, you die. Which is fair enough you can't have everyone believing the same thing.

I agree with you on the whole bubble thing i think that people are also really scared about the thought that there could be something else other than just us walking around, therefore they chose to ignore it.

i am very much a sceptic. i would love there to be supernatural things, but i believe that anything that science cant explain, is because its explanation hasnt been discovered yet. there are some things science will never be able to explain. but thats because of the the nature of the human ability to understand an explanation, rather than the fact that there is no explanation at all.

    although...

this one time, me and my flatmates were watching a tv program on a poltergeist. on tv the woman says... "then the bread just jumped off the counter and flew across the room" as she said that... a loaf of bread on our kitchen bench fell off onto the floor. we all freaked. but really it was a coincidence. it had been sitting on the edge since it was placed there earlier... slowly slipping then it fell.

I have quite a few experiences with things happening, i used to do a ouija board regularly and had various contacts with spirits throughout this time, i think that i possibly beleive too much if something weird happens to me alot of the time i put it down to paranormal very quickly and this can be a big problem.

I suffered several heart attacks when i was about 17 and the first time it happened its hard to explain without showing you exactly what i felt but it wasn't painful, i felt very numb but it felt like i was being gripped by someone very tight and although it sacred me slightly i was more confused about what had happened. I instantly put this down to some sort of spiritual activity and i was seriously freaked about it, i still get kinda freaked about the whole thing coz it felt so similar to someone grabbing hold of me really tight.

i wouls also like to embrace all things supernatural but i havent seen shit that makes me think again.

all i have seen or felt is lost souls deliberately moving glasses on a ouji board and then deny it.

oh and one time my bed moved like a foot across my room by itself and i was like YES THIS IS IT........turned out to be a welsh eart tremor

    not really.

    people watch us all day.

i would have no issue with an entity that has little or nothing to do with my living exsistance watching me.

my grandma is kind of spiritual, she believes more in the soul if things than in their matter (hence computers are bad, because bad things can come out of them). my dad is a math teacher and pretty much along blue's line.

im inclined to follow my dad, but like to keep an open eye for strange things.

the only thing i encounter frequently, are electronic devices that seem to break down more often when i use them. and if they do, they do it in some sort of mischeviuos, wannabe-spectacular way, that lets you think something is strange, but its always just outside proving territory.
