theres an octopus in a tank at my airport. i thought it was an odd place to keep an octopus, but apparantly it was rescued and now lives there happily and has done for years.
smart as dogs them things. saw on a documentary once, a guy was keeping an octopus in a tank, and had its food swimming in a tank across the room... one day he noticed fish going missing from the live food tank, he couldnt work it out.. he thought it must have been the crabs in the tank immediately connected to the fish so he set up a camera. turns out it was an octopus every night... as soon as he turned the light out, the octopus would squeeze through a hole in the top of the tank no bigger than a golfball, slime across the lab floor (a good 6 meters) crawl up into the fish tank, eat its fill and return to its own tank by morning. it could have slid out often left open windows and over the balcony into the sea, but why would it want to do that with food on demand?
back on subject... squid, the local marine biologists have been trying to catch live giant squid young near here for a few years now.. they want to breed the things in a big tank. freaky.
Cform man, your story is fucken ace! i have told everyone about it, so so cool the octopus

i would like to see a giant squid do it...
except it would be more like squid squeezes out of tank, goes out across road, flattens a car, then a bus as it travels, pulls up next to burger king lifts lid off, eats its fill, returns to its tank squashing 2 more cars on its travels.
