Thread: The Soup thread

    The Soup thread

Post your thoughts, feelings & opinions about soup in here.

You can anything from what soup you've had recently, to recipes you know about, to what your favourite soup is.

I just had French onion soup from my local soup vendor. In addition, I had a ham/cheese/spinach sandwich (toasted like) on brown.

I'm sure Sumo will pop up with some far out soup talk here, but let's see what everyone else has to say. I'd like some food for thought here

that soup looks superb, 8bits like the fact that it's in the bread itself. very novel.

i love soup...i could eat it everyday there are so many varieties

last night and today for lunch im having homemade chicken and threebean chili

im not a fan of cream based soups, although i am a sucker for a good crab or lobster bisque.

i prefer lots of veggies and either chicken, turkey, or beans

i love split pea as well...also one of my favorites but its not the same without the flavor from pork

Anyone dig gespacho? I like it, but it seems to be either rubbishy watery shite, or gorgeous cool niceness.

mmm yes gazpacho is really good...especially if its heavy on the basil. i prefer dipping it with a nice crusty italian more than just eating it with a spoon tho

This weekend I made pea and mint soup.

load of peas (500g), a bunch of spring onions, 2 pints chicken stock, 100ml of cream and a handful of chopped fresh mint (from the back garden). All blended till smooth after cooking the onions + mint for a bit and then adding the stock + peas + cream.

    Fantastic.

    Fantastico.

Gazpacho is the biz too. Well done to whoever mentioned it first (even if you did spell it like a farmer). You'll be getting a jiffy bag through the post containing my own lemon meringue flavoured gazpacho.
