    .Wav Play Back Problems

I grabed a few breaks from the theses are the breaks section.

My defalt audio player is Win.amp but when I try to play the breaks wav files in win.amp nothing happens. (They do however playback in Windows media player)
When I try to look for and open the same wav files in soundforge 7 , soundforge's open browser dosent see them , but when I drag and drop the file into soundforge, it loads up and appears ,
I can then resave the wav file in soundforge, after which win.amp and soundforge can both use the file as normal.

Anyone any ideas as to y this might be happening or how to change it ? its driving me nuts

I had a similar problem with 2 wavs...'burning brindes end' and 'two pigs & a hog beginning' they wouldn't play in media player, but loaded into wavelab no probs. Never had this prob before... re-save 'em and don't worry about it.

They're 24-bit files, and Winamp generally doesn't like 24-bit files.

It depends on the file header, and Sound Forge saves extra info in the file header which probably helps winamp out. As I recall, the wav will be a few bytes larger after it is saved in Sound Forge

At least, I think this is the case - this is more Windows bollix than music bollix

yea but nothing happens! if winamp opens a .wav it cant handle there usually is an errormsg that the filetype is unsupported etc. sound like something else is the matter here, espec. since u cant find the files in the soundforgebrowser. could well be someone saved these files in wav but a different one then windows pcm wav.
