Ok, i think ive sussed it

Go to your message board, then to create new message and then choose the address book.
In here do register, choose 'wii', then add the number of the other persons wii.. i dont know what happenes after this coz i dont know anyone else that owns one lol

anyway, heres my Wii number for people to add:

They've obviously hit the ground running making this console easy to get online with....bet MS are shitting themselves; they best make some major improvements to Live to combat this threat..

the wii numbers thing is mad! plus the 'email' only lets you recieve email to your wiimail address, which is your wii number @wii.com! and you can't even do that until someone has been sent an email confirming them as one of your correspondents

can you actually do anything worthwhile with it online? i don't want to risk breaking mine when it updates just yet

i put mine online as soon as i got it, the update was fine... not even sure it really changed much :s

...and no, it doesnt look like you can do much online yet apart from look at the shop, exchange messages and exchange mii's

How does that work then.....???

is it continuously connected to tinternet???

the wii never actually turns off, when you turn it off the core of it is still running. this means it will be able to do stuff like download content overnight when youre not otherwise using the internet, or whatever else nintendo want to do with it.

nintendo developed new low power processors to enable this to happen, the wii chips use less than 25% of the power of the ps3 or 360 chips. therefore no active cooling (fan) is needed when the wii is not playing a game.
