    Kontakt cant find my samples please help

    Yep thats right everytime I load up a trak in Logic Kontakt has this annoying habit of making me scour round my hard drive to locate each individual sample.

    I got to the point were I dont even bother making music no more cause I cant be arsed spending 30 mins showing Kontakt were my samples are located.

    So much for instant recall.

    Any help would be massively appreciated

    cheers

    Each time you are working or change summink in kontakt;

    Save multi as (include samples)

    close tune

    open tune

    abort loading when it's being a twat

    open kontakt

    load multi.

    SHOULD be cool.

    Ok cheers will try that.. think Ive done stuff that way before when taking traks from studio to studio.

    Also if i save the samples with the program does that not mean each time I use the same sample in several tunes I then end up with the sample being duplicated several times on my hard drive?

    The problem ive got at the mo is i wanna start making musc again an go through 2-3 years worth of traks see if I can maybe add or finish some ideas.. I just dont know if I can sit thru a day of loading and and saving etc..

    anyway thanks for the help Macc i think the answer to my question lies in "when Kontakt starts being a twat" haha I guess im not the only person to come across this..

    It's not a bad thing to store the samples for a tune in the tune folder, even if it is a multiple copy

    Generally they aren't massive files (a meg or two for a drum break, say), and it avoids shit like this. Plus when you back up your tune it makes it much easier
