could be time for an upgrade for me.....i've been on 3 (and loving it) for some time.


it looks like they may have finally (although they don't say explicitly) solved the routing issue with group channels.....they've introduced this feedback loop detection thing that will allow you to do as you please, as long as it wouldn't cause feedback.

C4.1 will be coming soon, and will feature many of the same routing features as N4, including sidechain support etc.

Beware though if you are thinking of moving to N4 - they are making it targeted as a post-pro app and so are NOT including many of Cubases composition features - if you want those with N4 you have to buy an expansion pack

reaheeeheeeaally....maybe i'll go back to cubase then. i never tried 4.

I love it Waaaaay better than 3.

Looking forward to 4.1 though with the enhanced flexibility in the routing.

Logic 8 is a snip now also for mac users. Much better UI than previously, and seems quite stable. big plus is lack of dongle....
Need more time with it to make a more meaningful comparison though...

yeh thats a problem not being about to route a group into another group. Im still on sx2.

You can, it just has to be a group created later.

I have 15 groups in my template and route the 'right' way from the word go - but of course I have always thought this stupid 'rule' was BOLLOCKS!
