I think you need to have the main funding coming from 2 or 3 sources at most.

The other thing I wanna sort asap is signing the tracks that I know I want (if Blue agrees)...

What is the usual way of things when you want to sign a track by an artist... do you give an advance of a few hundred £££ ? I like the way 0=0 does it... think he pays them in full before the track even comes out! Okay... we might not be able to stretch to that but I'd certainly like to pay a good chunk to the artist as an advance.

Blue, you're more used to the mechanics of a label, how do you see it?

when theres money generated it gets distributed.

I know anything SC makes as a label will go back in to the label and anything i make as an artist will go back in to the label.

i mean are we talking about 50, 100, 1000 or more dollars/euros/pounds?
basically, i have no idea.

Code mate.

(1) pick the tracks you want to release.

(2) explain to the artist you will do everything possible to pay them after you have released the wax, especially with regard to this project. No one should be looking for money at this stage but they should be eager to get wax cut.

(3) sort out your dist. Good luck on that one

(4) Pay all your maufacturing bills.

(5) Hopefully your dist. will take your wax and in six months time hopefully he'll pay you for it.

(6) maybe you'll have some money to pay your artists. Then star the whole process again but ALWAYS look for cheaper services.

I may have left some things out but thats the jist of it.
