This white font is killing me

Anyone else rather see the old gold/yellow colour as the base font and then white can be the mouse over font - the reverse of what it is now. This white font is doing my eyes in. At least the previous gold SC colour will give some similitude.

Bunch of old folks round here. The white print doesn't bother me, but it just doesn't feel like SC w/o the orange on black. Just saying.

However, the flat black background does bother me a bit. For example, is darker in the block around the smiley making the smiley as a whole less effective imo.

I've already asked about that and Ben Subvert said it was one of the things in the queue to put back in.
