beats are there to be broken www.djnoisemonkey.com
first Flight and now Bailey
what are they putting on instead?![]()
lame
They'd have probably kicked John Peel off the radio by now if he were still alive today
they must have done a shake up since tim westwood got the boot too. hadn't listened to bailey in years, did enjoy the shows back at the time when "choppage" was being championed by him on 1xtra
He still plays the choppage

Instead of getting a straight replacement, Crissy Criss is getting an extended show.
This is a depressing development. Not only for the fact Crissy Criss was involved in the "Drumstep" movement that got battered in 2011, but he hasn't got any real anchoring in the music's history besides connections with Kenny Ken and superficial remnants of hear it / chuck it digital dubplate culture. I could forgive the joke tunes like "On The Motorway" from 2004-2007 or so when he was 18, but even then, to him, they weren't really joke tunes. And when you compare all that with someone like Bailey, who while I never greatly listened to - radio shows aren't nowadays my thing - he simply has so much more to give than a watered down propogation of what the music was, and could still be. But hey ho, another reason not to tune into 1Xtra.

Nah, Westwood's just been moved to Sunday nights.

Damn...
Im sure he left on his own accord.
Sad news, though all things come to an end at some point, there is always change.
Gilles P is now on 6 music on a saturday afternoon, which means I can actually tune in and listen to his show live.
Im sure Mr Bailey will be back somewhere
Time for us all to look forward and not back.
Bailey is one of the few of the established D&B Dj's I still respect musically - but no doubt he will continue on somewhere else and, who knows, his playlists might be less restricted by not having to cater to the bosses at the BBC (if he had to cater? dunno if he did or not)
Also, it's time to get the next generation (if there is one) of presenters and Dj's / producers out there from this side of the house.
If not on the BBC, on a pirate or on an internet station or wherever. You never know where it will all lead.
Maybe even Mr. Noisemonkey can make the leap ?!

I would love to see Kiss make a decent comeback, get Bailey, Flight et al on there with a weekly show again.
It'll never happen but it's worth dreaming.
Bailey has been brilliant on there. Happy to have been around for the early shows, some great material first heard it's way on there.
