Agreed, was fun to watch. Waiting for France vs. England game tonight...

I hope we batter the French tonight, mainly cos Nasri's in their squad and he's a complete tool. The rest of their team I don't mind

Shame about the violence after some of the matches, though we knew that was going to happen

I hope we win 1-0 after an impressively disciplined performance.

Hodgson can give England that discipline if the players' enormous egos don't get in the way.

It's long past time we (and they) stopped thinking of England as world-beaters and expecting them to roll teams over.

Hmmm, I don't think that attitude within the team is so widespread this time. I certainly don't think they're world beaters (being the world class pundit I am ) and neither do my mates. The tabloids might do, but they're wankers and not to be taken seriously.

A stoic performance would be a good start

Also, have you seen the "official ham salad cob" they're selling in Marks & Spencer?

Spain don't look as impressive as in previous years.
Still amazing of course around the centre of the pitch but no real cutting edge. With a pretty average team but a good organised and disciplined defence; Italy showed their weakness to counter attacks.

Iniesta though, what an amazing player. The ball is sexually attracted to him or something, its ridiculous.

On all showings so far though Germany and Spain are still favourites I guess, but I reckon France are worth a shout.

As for Rio Ferdinand: seeing as his mistakes pretty much cost United the title, Hodgson was right to leave him out of the squad.

Glad to see people getting into the spirit of it

Also glad to see the Ox starting. He's a quick little bugger.

Ive enjoyed the games so far, and will do the rest. But I just dont have any amount of support left for the national team anymore and especially that corrupt bunch of wankers that is the F.A, back to watching euros and world cups simply to watch some good football and maybe see a few stars of the future.

Fair enough, and in part I agree, there are serious problems with the FA which do need looking at. The problem is (for me at least) the endless fucking cynicism from the football crowd, aka some of those I work with. They're constantly bemoaning everything and won't let anybody enjoy themselves. It's boring.

I'm sure England won't do brilliantly but let's just give them a chance....

Got props for Roy for starting with Chamberlain today. He could make the difference the same way Rooney did in 2004.
I cant believe Downing was ever in contention for a place in the 11 today!?

he is the only player in the supposed lineup that gives me a glimmer of hope tbh

wouldve liked to see him playing that number 10 role in behind the striker and young out on the wing though

I imagine they might switch it up a bit, wouldn't be a bad idea as it would give Chamberlain less responsibility despite being fairly combative for a young guy, he could drop deep and link up play better than Young I reckon.

    indeed

I seem to remember him playing for arsenal through the middle 1 game last season and he looked pretty confident on the ball and gave things a good tempo, plus i think young is a lot better at finishing when he cuts in from the left
