Yes exactly, however, I take the blame for at least some of the influence that has been gathering around that god damn word lately. People use it for a genre name, I used it to describe what I liked pattern-wise listening to breakbeats, drums, bass, and melodic soundscapes.
I am not saying that I am ahead of my time, however, a lot of the more eloquent and thoughtful headz are infact generally on point NOW and it often turns out later down the line that things have changed, after debating it years before it even started to happen.
time to start a "stop fucking pigeon holing" campaign methinks. or a "why the fuck is everyone bitching about what is essentially all one music?" campaign. i'm getting so sick of all this.
please god no, that is a terrible idea, hokus:
simply have no part in any of it. just practice what you preach (not that you were preaching) and call it 'an equinox track' instead of ' chopped up roller with minimalist renaissance edit and twissup reese back sub bass step'. i have heard too much of that stuff anyway

mate this is of the essence of what i was trying to say yesterday, its all the same get over it, i so prefer listning to dj's who play a bit of everything and going to nights where they mix and match whatever.. its this segragation that makes electronica end up so ridiculous..
shit i would probably go out alot more if there were event that tried to be a bit more freeform, who cares if the occasional clownstep track is played or the occasional no bass all drums drumfunk track.. if its all and everything more people would get to hear more styles and everyone would end up getting more coverage for their music.
