You mean 'freestyle drum and bass'?
Stacks
I quite like "breakbeat jungle," or something like that. "Edits" and "choppage" both sound shitty.
Yes exactly, however, I take the blame for at least some of the influence that has been gathering around that god damn word lately. People use it for a genre name, I used it to describe what I liked pattern-wise listening to breakbeats, drums, bass, and melodic soundscapes.
FUCK THIS SHIT.
All you have are interesting drums, and boring drums, to my taste. Some stupid name makes fuck all difference.
Not to say edits = interesting and no edits = boring. You just need a good beat in the first place.
I refer you all (again) to Nucleus and Paradox's 'Cortez'![]()

It's COJONAL STEP for me

I'll say I listen to breakbeat-jungle from now on.![]()
It's nice to be able to differentiate between Equinox and Dillinja tracks though. Whichever way you look at it, dnb has splintered off into a lot of different directions since the early 90's.Originally Posted by Phokus
If you want to differentiate between them, say you're talking about an Equinox track, or a Dillinja track!

If someone asks me what I listen to then I'll say breakbeat-jungle instead of Drum 'N' Bass or simply Jungle because the genre is so divided seen.

mate this is of the essence of what i was trying to say yesterday, its all the same get over it, i so prefer listning to dj's who play a bit of everything and going to nights where they mix and match whatever.. its this segragation that makes electronica end up so ridiculous..Originally Posted by Phokus
shit i would probably go out alot more if there were event that tried to be a bit more freeform, who cares if the occasional clownstep track is played or the occasional no bass all drums drumfunk track.. if its all and everything more people would get to hear more styles and everyone would end up getting more coverage for their music.
whishfull thinking methinks
