in the states this stuff gets called electroacoustic improv or 'eai' for short, though no musician i know would be caught dead using the term 'eai' to describe the music since it's corny and awful-sounding.

the boston version tends to get called 'lowercase', or used to, years back, others say 'reductionist,' wotevz, the terms are all awful, but some of the music is great - erstwhile records in the states is sort of the standard bearer for this thang

Jon, you should check out Cathnor recordings, lots of similar material, a very nice fellow (richard) runs it, the musique concrete record by will guthrie on cathnor from 2007 is one of my fave recent records, it's beautiful and brilliant and twisted and just perfect
