There's a NEW Minus The Bear (Seattle, WA) 2017 lp called "Voids" kicking about, which I've only skimmed. I haven't done a thorough MTB discography on shuffle, listening marathon for a while, but their early releases are definitely some extremely, thoroughly enjoyed pieces of music in my world from the past 16 years or so. Late 90's, early 2000's local Pacific NW hardcore sort of morphed into new territory when MTB formed. I recall when the immediate polarization of NW metalcore, hardcore punk fans and tastes were determined whether or not you were down with MTB, opening for local hardcore bands an such. It freaked local hardcore kids out to see a keyboard on stage. lol. I mean, Minus The Bear are inherently Pacific NW hardcore in root, BOTCH, Kill Sadie, and earlier bands all paved the way & shared members.
It is nice to hear Minus The Bear again tho.. some good tunes. Late nites, long work shifts over the years.. soundtrack moments for sure I like the fact that you can still lose yourself in a MTB song. Prog? For some of us, it was still hardcore. heh.
If I had to choose, 2005 "Menos El Oso" lp is perhaps my fave MTB release. The affiliated, 2007 "Interpretaciones Del Oso" remix lp is dope too. "Prog Fugazi".. i can hear it all now, listening back.
