inspired by this thread http://www.subvertcentral.com/forum/view...hp?t=48007 i thought i'd knock together a little list of metalheads that never quite made it!
by 1996, earning a release on metalheads really did signify an affirmation of your status in the d'n'b scene, from another producer to a leading artist that was defining the essense of what the sound was. whether a self-fulfilling prophesy or a desire by others to perpetuate the prestige of its pristine nature, this really did place metalheads in the position of being the leading label of the time!
peshay - nevada
dom & roland - aliens
dj trace - replicants
matrix - ???
well that's about it from me, i have a couple other comments but may put them in reply, would be interested in any other details anyone has to flesh this thread out a bit.

peshay - nevada
- signified here:
http://www.essentialmix.nu/index.php?mod...iew&id=290 (4th tune in)
this was a tune seemingly earmarked for release on metalheads but in the end didn't turn up until three years later quietly stashed away on the premier pivotal release
this was a tune grooverider seemed to love towards the end of 1996, with me having heard him play a number of occasions over a period of time (quite unusual for grooverider really), and then around then hearing fabio play out one time which seemed a bit more apt, being to me more of a fabio tune than rider.
i never would have thought this was a peshay tune! well, in fact i think i did have a little clue, as it shared the same sax solo as this tune that was being called manifesto - find me (peshay remix) around the same time (also read here). but yeah, overall not really typical of his sound at all!
dom & roland - aliens
- another tune seemingly 'supposed' for metalheads, but never came about.

unlike peshay, dom never had a release on metalheads and this would have been an interesting 12" for sure. i would have been interested to hear what other tunes would have turned up on that 12", but i guess now we will never know :d
dj trace - replicants
- this tune i believe was also slated for release on metalheads, spoken about around the end of 96 / early 97. it eventually turned up on a single sided 12" in 1998

sometimes the context of things makes something more exciting, and how exciting it would have been to see a nasty piece of tech step like this on metalheads! surely would have been a big seller
matrix - ???
- i'm pretty certain matrix was also being supposed to have a release on the label. but other than that, i'm not too sure of the details. could it have been "gap the mind", i dont know
