I was really sad to hear this too. The film diarising his fall and rise to fame in the science world at least was really touching, he's been through an awful lot, and as someone whose family was affected by the same degenerative disease in a more crushing way, I feel for him how he brought money into the funding of Motor Neurone Disease, when most people only think of cancer and leukemia.
