that's minor compared to the probs I'm having trying to get internet down in Castledermot.
Eircom r pretty much the only available net service where I'm at & with them I need 2 get a phone line 2 get their net service but I don't need or want a land line as I have a mobile & my gf works in 02 so that's pretty much sorted free of charge for the both of us plus to have phone line installed it's 121 euros & 40 quid a month for their top package....with their top broadband package that would be 60 euros a month....which isn't that bad but it's way more than I should be paying because,like I said,I only need internet.
So,I tried Digiweb & I'm just 1km,yes 1 fucking KM!, out of range of their services!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
However they're currently installing a new ariel in athy which sould get my area covered & with them it's 90 euros installation & 35 euros a month for a much better net package (3mb dl/1mb upload-30gb download limit per month)
So I now just have to wait until that ariels in (sometime in January they hope) & see if it's strong enough to get me covered....
oh good god what a nghtmare....other than that things r great...
my rents gone from 1400 a month in dublin to 540 a month in castledermot (for a better/bigger/newer house)
food is dirt cheap as I have both aldi & lidl nearby & can fill up my cupboard & fridge with food & alcohol to last a month for around 120 euros!!!!!!!!!!!!!
whereas that was a weekly shop/night out in dublin!
& people r friendlier (once u get past the initial uncomfortable 'your not from round these 'ere parts stare)
oh & last but not least, you can geta fresh xmas tree for only 15 euros from guys selling it on the side of the road.GREAT!

well if u r,read my previous post about my endevours to acquire broadband in my area.
After doing a bit of searching online I've found a community group who r in exactly the same position as myself & after reading their discussions via their forum I can honestly say I will never,ever get broadband at home.

they are numpties. Used to work for the faults line, you'd get daft phone calls about all sorts. Lots of engineers making a pigs ear of things
