^^ visuals were a very important part of the trip lol.  Perhaps a thread topic in itself?  ha.

I don't recall seeing many of these early Maldini tunes in my local shops @ the time - new or used.  I do recognize the Deep Cover "Night Crawlers" tune from the 1997 Renegade Hardware "Renegade Continuum" mix cd that I was obsessed with back then.

Nice finds.

"No Turning Back", then rocked on local mixtapes. DOPE tune, sounds great now, imo. Pitched up, the tune is hella aggressive.

Some of the selections were obvious here. I did guess Decoder as well before Peshay "Miles from Home". doh!

Quite decent 4-tracker of new rave music, this. From Adelphi label, which normally specialises in big room house and old school.

Just stumbled across this release recently. Nice Darkness tune, which never showed up in the playlists.

Also released on a one sided 10" Plate

RE: old skool for da raverz.... - +ToRMeNT+ - 5th August 2023

I heard Bizarre Inc on the radio earlier today. I never really noticed the original "I'm Gonna Get You" was a breakbeat tune. Were there any early jungle remixes or bootlegs of the tune?

Interesting output they had. Some of their remixes aren't bad for that early era of ravey, or deep house & such.

RE: old skool for da raverz.... - +ToRMeNT+ - 27th November 2023

I like Det's intro synopsis of the early Jungle characteristics. Articulated well and simple to understand this far on. I was listening to the early SOUR compilations yesterday. T-Power tunes and such. I always get into Mj Cole related stuff as well. I still have a couple SOUR cd compilations somewhere, but youtube links are great too!

RE: old skool for da raverz.... - +ToRMeNT+ - 27th November 2023

I consider this an early trance tune.

Fantastic to this day, imo!

RE: old skool for da raverz.... - +ToRMeNT+ - 27th November 2023

Get into it y'all!

This was quite a project to put together. Harthouse has so many wonderful releases throughout the 90s but to keep the set sonically consistent and with a decent flow throughout I had to limit the selections quite strictly (No Hardfloor or Der Dritte Raum for example). So I know there are many fan favorites missing here. Perhaps I can get them all into a Part 2 some day. Still, this one clocks in at 2 hours and 30 minutes! - Johan N. Lacander, March 2020

Amazing chat with Bones here. The amount of information shared is important.

Bones often mentions John "Jelly Bean" Benitez as a formative influence on NYC in general, including his own personal dj career of course. I often listen to Benitez's radio shows in the car. Its cool to hear Bones reference Benitez from the past, yet we're still able to hear the man in the present via his satellite radio show now. Benitez, djing since 1976.

The graffiti talk is cool too.
