I went through this long walk on the water front in Brooklyn this past spring. It took 2 hours to get back into Manhattan. I had a lot of time to think. I like moments like that. music is kinda important in those scenerios. the entire walk, i listened to Moving Mountains.

Moving Mountains released their last September 2013 self-titled lp a year ago now, then called it quits, hiatus, or what have you. I still listen to their entire discography on shuffle on occasion. I'd be happy if there was more tho.

I clearly remember my thoughts during that 2 hour walk through Brooklyn. I had a moment. yes, one of those. Wink

Bitch Magnet - 1986 - 1990, Ohio / North Carolina

yes.. the magic that is Sooyoung Park, and associates.

I stumbled upon Bitch Magnet randomly as a kid.. I can't remember where or how i first heard them. when I did, I had no notion what post-hardcore meant, or what it would come to mean later of course. in a way, i understood Bitch Magnet in a more, slight metal sort of way in places, I do remember that, I was always captivated by the drums, time signatures, the space in the music - all qualities that have since come to define post hardcore, some shades of metal & shoegaze ish, math rock, etc etc etc that we know now. I heard Bitch Magnet before I ever heard Slint. in a lot of ways, Bitch Magnet actually set my tastes that were to come, now that I listen back on it all. an album like Ben Hur still sounds relevant today. THE PRODUCTION of Ben Hur is fantastic! listen to it. so good.

if only to excite me that Sooyoung Park is still alive and scarcely, occasionally, musically active today, there was a Bitch Magnet reunion of sorts within the past few years. Sooyoung Park needs to make new music again. seriously. ** catch the Minor Threat "Filler" cover at the end of the live clip.
