yea lately i've found myself listening to my noise 12"s and cds alot more digging for samples.
i'm talking like pure homebrew instruments, feedback etc no melody etc
stuff like john wiese, bastard noise, spme japanese stuff that the names escape me atm.
just wondered if anyone else is as weird as me Oops
of and if you do some new suggestions would be tight
I listen to some of that stuff on occasion. Would def suggest ILLUSION OF SAFETY.
Merzbow is the king for this sort of shit.
Just got Multiplication - an album he did with John Wiese - a fucking racket. Turned it down to half volume and it was still giving me earache - great stuff.
The thing he did with Boris - Sun Baked Snow Cave - is well worth a listen n'all. One 60-minute track that starts quiet and acoustic and gradually gets more and more intense.
yea man i listen to merzbow, oh and blunt if you like wiese i can hook you up to a link of the split 12" that has owl pregnancies (18 min track) 300 ltd pressing.
one of the tunes ive spent a good day or so chopping samples from for atmospherics
yeah, would like to hear from Wiese. He appears on Sunn o)))'s latest thing, Black One, n'all - dark, loud and real fucking slow. Sabbath pitched down basically
do you want a link to actually buy the vinyl or a rip?
Not heard any of it myself. I heard an SC podcast ESB did though (no.3 here: http://www.subvertcentral.com/podcast/) which was very noisy indeed!

Been hearing more about this "noisecore" genre but am yet to hear it. Any good?

i haven't heard much myself either -but anything revolving around sound manipulation and feedback would make interesting listening i'm sure. as yet iv'e only heard the more noisy types of breakcore and experimental tracks but would like to hear some of this music Icon_yippee
Merzbow - Merzbuddha might go down well with some on here. Usual ear-splitting frequencies combined with massive chunks of dub bass

Is it just me or has Noise become quite popular (relatively speaking) recently? With Wolf Eyes on Subpop etc? Personally I'm not really into the pure noise stuff, but I like it when noise is used as a stylistic element, e.g. currently Mouthus or Todd.

BTW, I saw Wolf Eyes live some days ago and was kinda underwhelmed. I went because they had Battles as support act (and Battles killed it, fucking billiant) and while Wolf Eyes were making a racket their impact wasnt half as brutal as I expected, especially compared to the ultratight rhythm machine that is Battles.

it's not just you, it has become a lot more popular. in some ways i'm unsure why, think a lot of it has to do with people wanting to be hip or cool or whatever, and that some parts of the media have latched onto it. there's a lot of shit noise artists out there who unfortunately aren't doing anything new or imaginative with it.

yes, the hipsters™ seem to be into it, don't know where that's coming from. i think i saw a 10 point review for the new whitehouse album in vice (what a shitty mag) the other day.
