will2003 Wrote:SLRV006 is now confirmed - and it's a full 4-track repress of the Freestyle Fanatic
EP by Q Project This will be another nice heavyweight vinyl 12" and will
have all four tracks as per the original release here:

I'm doing pre-orders on this one, want to take 80 pre-orders and then it will
go straight to press, so if you're interested and would like this to happen then
please feel free to pre-order one!
Instead of PMs and emails etc, I've added this as a pre-order release on my webstore.
You can add it to the cart like any other product, and pay by Paypal including postage
options. As soon as it happens, then I can send out all 80 preorders the same day
the vinyl is in. I think it's very unlikely to not go to press as it's a very in demand
tune but if it doesn't happen and not enough pre-orders are reached, all pre-orders
will be fully refunded by Paypal.
This is the SLRV006 product page:
http://sublogicrecordings.easywebstore.c...22NV2.aspx
I've set the stock level on the product page to 80 so I easily see that way how the
preorders are coming along as that number comes down...

Just listened to it. Its not even that good is it really.
I do like these represses though, Skanna one was superb. Pretty nice earner here though I imagine, just look on discogs for a real sought after tune. Contact the artist.... repress. I cant see anyone ever refusing, its free money for them, they just have to dig out the masters. the breakdowns in the a1 and b1 tunes are great though plus be nice to have a copy, as you say, will be worth something eventually the upcoming represses are going to be huge
Well else is in store...
Needs more Skanna IMO law Wrote:Pretty nice earner here though I imagine, just look on discogs for a real sought after tune. Contact the artist.... repress. erm. you'd make more money working in tescos for a few days.
so was the original release something to do with legend? it was engineered by the invisible man so i guess so? regardless will be picking this up everything that i've heard to do with legend has been excellent. would have prefered a repress of this thou

Not sure about the history of this release to be honest, pre-legend i would imagine! I didnt mean too much, but its a nice system he has got going on, what with the pre-ordering. You can tell its as much for the love, as all the releases ive heard so far have been real good quality. That Skanna EP is on about the heaviest vinyl I have ever felt. Law Wrote:UFO_over_easy Wrote:law Wrote:Pretty nice earner here though I imagine, just look on discogs for a real sought after tune. The "Impact is similar to a trainwreck" is the big tune here. Loads of DJ's played it back in the day. Beats and bassline are rough.
Bring on the Invisible Man represses though
Indeed nebkins biggest news ever
Seriously cant wait for the Invisible Man stuff - some crazy amount of tunes ...so everyone snap this up and we can have them sooner!!! nebkins Wrote:Bring on the Invisible Man represses though WHAT did'nt know about this!! whats being repressed? the beginning/the end and on a mission?

Its not even that good is it really. Thought it was about time I came on here Well, it's not actually a nice earner at all - I'm doing ok from it but it's a huge amount of work. Lots, and lots of very big names, refuse out of hand. The tunes in question are either still licensed or under label control. Plenty more of them have their own plans for the material, regardless of if they actually decide do anything with it. Then, once you've found someone who can legally give their material for a repress you need to find the original DATs, which are often lost, snapped or degraded and full of noise or dropouts. Then you have to negotiatie a fee to pay them. There are so many stages at which the whole project can and does hit a brick wall and fail. If you do get lucky though, a whole next set of problems arise - you need to get the mastering done and the lacquers cut, then test presses, then the full press. Then you have to promote the hell out of it, add webstore pages, hit Discogs, forums, Ebay, mailing lists etc etc. Throw into that mix endless driving all over London - mastering studio, the pressing plant, not to mention petrol, mailers, consumables, long phone calls (often overseas), and yeah - the margins are slim. One release flops and you've lost the profit from two good ones. And the time it takes is the killer really - the only way these represses work financially is if basically the entire first run is sold directly by me. There's just no headway money-wise to make putting them out for distro even remotely worthwhile, really. And I'm not going into exact figures but on a small run of 300 it's maybe on average about 150 copies that need to sell at full price just to break even. Paypal fees are also a big loss per copy I love what I'm doing and will go on releasing stuff like this until I can't take it any more or the market goes dead but in the meantime, about the single last thing I'd call it is a "nice earner" unfortunately But it's loads of fun and stress in equal measure, and is all worth it when people are happy with the releases! dwarde78 Wrote:good morning captain Wrote:nebkins Wrote:Bring on the Invisible Man represses though Indeed!
