Quantum 2
and 3 contain re-interpretations from Eschaton’s epic Quantum 1 LP from a host of talented producers.
Focusing mainly in drum and bass territory, each track has been skillfully remixed and taken off into new directions.
Cycom’s re-work of Wave Function transports the listener back into the dark 97 techstep movement that typified the sounds coming out of Bristol, UK, while the same track is remixed by Indidjinous into a half step experimental collage of dnb drums and evocative moods, showing the versatility on offer.
Each remix takes the original sounds and morphes them into their own new universe, from the deep minimalistic vibes from Parallel, Fushara, CJ Weaver and Jason Os (Daat), the trademark dystopian sounds from Pinecone Moonshine’s Nic TVG, and the exciting drum workouts from Relapse, Jiva, Greenleaf and Enjoy.
Other styles are represented too, from the Goodlooking-esque sounds by Shadow Boxerz and Pete Rann, the downtempo excursions from Stunna, Wilsh and Made in Russia, deep pseudo-Jungle vibes from Ricky Force and the Breakbeat heaven that is Infest’s Zero Point remix.
The LP’s also feature the 3 winners from the Quantum remix competition; Ursa, Zengineers and Hidden Life, each displaying their own unique and varied talents to complete a diverse and exciting set of remixes that compliment the original Quantum journey perfectly. A compilation of styles and sounds that will appeal to many people from across different genres.
