If Scotland does become independent, the rest of the UK is effectively condemned to perpetual Tory governments, as Labour are fucked without their Scottish MPs.
Not that Labour aren't a big bunch of cunts, but picture it, a Tory / Ukip government for ever and ever and ever.
Whether that's enough to convince Scotland to vote Yes, I'm not sure, but Cameron is calling off PMQs to campaign in Scotland tomorrow, just to remind thwhat they could be getting rid of.

Yes, I thought that, but it turns out it's not generally true. The comparatively small number of Scottish MPs means that the Scottish vote has little affect on the outcome of general elections. The Tories would have won outright in 2010 (but as they're propped up by their LibDem poodles anyway, that doesn't really matter); and Labour would have lost in 1974. Those are the only recent cases. Which is doubtless why Westminster has pretty much always ignored Scotland when it comes to policy.
meanwhile, back on the colony, Quebec still exists within Canada after all these decades of separatist rhetoric. AND, you hear talk of "the west" in a strive for independence every now and then.
