To me the best treat is having an Americano or getting a hand-dripped coffee. Most days it is just the bagged coffee from the break room, but that's what makes the other stuff special. Not a fan of cold brew though although the extra caffeine .

Coffee!!! I saw a sign that said: "instant human, just add coffee."
Yeah, I can be pretty useless before coffee in the morning.

probable should get propa machine at some point
Fushara
Is this the bit where we geek out about coffee? Aeropress and burr hand grinder and which beans and which espresso machine and temperatures and which milk if any and all that shit?
Totally oldschool here, filter coffee/drip brewing madman here - keep away those fancy Nespresso mambo jambo
Oh, almost black, only a bit of milk, no sugar, thanx! Need at least 4 cups a day proper

I could learn a thing or two for sure. My grinder has one setting which I use until I hear no more "big chunks" then I wait until the kettle is boiling and pour that over the beans. Usually go for a medium to dark roast; haven't reached the point where I can tell different regions apart. Seems more like the quality from vendor to vendor changes versus just region.
Got a couple of Swiss/Vanilla flavoured coffee bean packages for Xmas. Looking forward to using it.
No love for coffee here. Hot chocolate FTW.
I got a little Dualit for my birthday this year, and a friend over from Uganda brought some beans with her, they were amazing.
The Dualit is weirdly hard to operate though, as the instructions are soooooo shit it's untrue. Still, if you just want an espresso, it's pretty damn good.
Aeropress ftw. I own three, housed at various locations
Coffee-wise the Lavazza gear gets my vote for 'readily available in supermarkets' coffee. Big in the coffee game. Don Cherry Wrote:Every human is blessed in her or his life with one love (passion), no matter how long it may last. This Absolute love will last in one's heart and soul forever.
Yeah, I'll happily have that Lavazza stuff if we haven't got any specialist gear in.
How does that aeropress work Bob? The website looks like I made it and the pic on amazon has a whisky glass under it!
I went back to college last October which leads to hours of studying and reading, and I developed the odd habbit of mandatory coffee-drinking while being over my papers. I can't get things done WITHOUT my cups any more. Should I be worried?

Coffee ?...Nah...It's Yorkshire Tea for me
Chocolate > Tea > Coffee
mmm chocolate
Colombian - No milk - No sugar (but im dunking more biscuits after cutting out the sugar) Also prefer lighter roast coffee after cutting the sugar.
Used a stainless steel stove top espresso thing for a while until I put it on with no water in the chamber - TWICE! Killed the finish on it, every cup tasted like 2 pence pieces afterwards. Been eyeing up the fancy machines though...

Has anyone ever given up coffee and benefited from it? It seems to make me sleepy not wired. Maybe that's the roll off of the caffeine?

Can't imagine giving up on coffee but as a an avid coffee drinker I never had any trouble sleeping. No matter when drinking a cup or two. Granted, i don't drink it black but not as "milk with a drop of coffee" either, so according to my personal experience the coffee prevents you from sleep myth doesn't work. Luckily

Maybe that's the roll off of the caffeine? yes, I gave up coffee a few years ago; it was starting to give me headaches giving it up caused pain as well through caffeine withdrawal, but that only lasted a week or so and if I drink coffee now I get all jittery |
