speaking of worst songs ever...

speaking of worst tunes ever, that won't be the case at the james street tavern open mic gig tonight, where I on solo piano and several other open mic session musician regulars cohabit to produce spark side of the moon on Tuesday's at this fine and cosy pub. craft ales, cheese and onion crisps, free entry for a night of varied music, zero attitude. what more could you ask for?

i'm off for a sc curry get together beforehand at the first floor cowley (my favourite on land restaurant) so get there early and you might hear me warming up on piano before my slot, and you're welcome to come say hello to us...unlike Tyson, we don't bite. I am very quiet generally though, and if I shut my eyes in front of you or blank you, it's not intentional. it's my schizophrenia and that's the easiest way to explain that billions of voice streams a day make mr.foci's left very sleepy. my wife guarantees nobody takes advantage of me, and i'm a nice guy anyway, so there's no need. the mean streets of cowley was a wonderful place to live, once upon a time. shouts to all the lovely response female staff.

I've been looking forward to another night out for ages...it's the only socialisation I get these days, and I get paid in full for the privilege. sparky flying circus meanwhile is on Thursday's at the half moon, a recently re-decked pub that I first went to 11 years ago, just off saint clements street, headington interchange. I played there on their 15 anniversary and first gig of 2017 line-up.

everything these days is like fine wine. I will perform on what stresses me out the least - electronics gigs are not for me atm. it's not the weight of up to 20kg of metal keyboard carrying that stresses me out - I have a pocket ableton keyboard to minimise stress these days which has turned into a fun live attraction...it's just what I feel most comfortable with. that instrument, my friends, is the piano. familiar faces like the playing, I get a mix of neutral to positive comments, or that's how I always take them, because In general human circles aren't bad apples...so yeah.!..an invite! Smile
Hop3 it was good. I enjoyed myself. Smile
We had jada pearl and John Thompson down. Also adey Tony Batey Andy cool slots.
Nice mix of beats piano poetry guitar.
And I got a first floor money off leaflet Grin
We plan to do it again. I think that's the 12th one I've played in three years- June 2nd 2014-July 4th 2017. A nice mix of fans came out to stay all night, and Batey was still going when I packed up my things and left.

Shouts to Sal's cat painted guitar.
