I like a new Photek tune!

the problem with this board is everybody who is a regular on here has this stuck up their own arse living in the past attitude that the only thing worth listening to is source direct. yes some greats tunes they have made but people have to diversify and experiment with new things otherwise the whole scene goes stale. everybody is entitled to their own opinion but there is a very anal attitude on this board sometimes. i was one of the first 10 members on this board and a lot has changed

one of the main reasons why i cant be arsed to post anymore.

I F**KING LOVE Source Direct ... but even last Saturday night I played "Alien Girl" by Ed Rush & Optical and "Gasmask" alongside a load of Paradox, F&N, Polar, Hidden Agenda, Resound, Polska, Dom & Roland, Cyantific, Spirit, Digital, Vertigo, Breakage, Equinox etc etc...

Too much of any one sound is boring (although I could listen to Source Direct for alot longer than most other producers!!)

yeah. last week I played loads of ragga jungle, some breakage, some seba, calibre, marcus intalex, Die, D-bridge and loads more. Oh and some new photek.

i just have my own opinion and my taste in music is a lot less narrow minded than a lot of people on here.

have a listen to the pi recordings release schedule and you will see. there are tunes fr the ravers , tunes for the amen heads and mellow stuff for the smokers.

are you guys reading the same board as the others on here? or do you still have the concept of a vicious clownstep-attack thread from 2002 stuck in your head? i've been lurking and i thought it was 40000% understood that the stuck-up thing was a thing of the past, and even then that was just an accumulation of like twelve burnt-by-the-scene people's opinions. not only that, it's pretty clear that the Source Direct retro people number merely 8 or 9 (i haven't listened to them in years, and the d'n'b i prefer these days doesn't even sound like d'n'b). any discerning individual can notice that, i thought.

again, although you've stated the contrary it still comes off like you're just getting defensive because there are differing aesthetic and functional preferences, ones that have been clearly and respectfully understood for ages by now.

i apologise for not sticking up for mr parkes but i am as yet still waiting to hear the tune so i have no opinion ..... for now

but i did like babylon vip, baltimore and horns 2004 or whatever they called it in the end.

i don't feel it neccesary to get into these 'discussions' anymore. they have been going on for ages here and i expect them to continue for a long time yet.

this is a forum which leans towards the more 'abstract' side of dnb and i have no problem with that, i just don't come to here to discuss the latest (x) track as i know a fair few people on here aren't intrested in that.
