I really like "The Hours" score by Phillip Glass, anything by Giovanni Rota that he did for Fellini's films, Ennio Morricone's scores, anything by Herrmann that he did for Hitchcock films, 2001 filmscore.


I quite like the Garden State Soundtrack at the moment...

Alot of the Goblin soundtracks are the best i have heard. Mainly because they scare the shit out of me.
I don't listen to many film scores in detail, but anything John Barry has ever done is quality, incidentally, he's got a few things to say about modern film scores:

...i'd like to mention a soundtrack i just found out about, a movie called "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence" with the sound track by Ryuichi Sakamoto... very interesting music and, apparently Ryuichi played a role in the film next to David Bowie as well... want to get this album
