It was repeated on Saturday night. Thought it was pretty good.
What did you make of it, those who saw it?
The biggest laugh from me was for 'keep it dusty'
I only started this thread really to mention that after watching that, I went to teach kung fu on Sunday, and lo and behold.... Who is doing their first lesson, but that bloke who is in Nathan Barley and was in The Mighty Boosh, the mustachioed one.
Really nice quiet fella, but I couldn't help thinking of the kangaroo boxing scene when he was bouncing about hitting pads and stuff

yeah wasnt too bad! The rise of the idiots.......how true! reminded me of shoreditch for some reason!
Co..Cou...Could you possibly rewind and come again?
Julian Barratt < man from Da Boosh!
I saw this on Saturday night too.... for the most part, I thought it was alright - had me laughing when he (Dan Ashcroft?) got back from the interview and everyone thought it was a joke
Barley's not grown on me yet... but sure he'll provide a few laughs.
The secretary's nice!!!

yeah it was pretty good. i think there is potential for some real funniness, and it will probably repay repeated viewings. my only concern is that the people they are lampooning are such an easy target, you wonder if there is much room for morris-style astute but subtle mad comedy.
nice one for teaching da boosh macc! :spiritofjazz:
"i'm monsoon moon"!
I liked it, thought it had potential, was funnier looking back on it than actually watching it though I reckon. My girlfriend watched most of it with her hands covering her eyes!

I think that is largely in the stylised way he talks - sort of a distilled version of the way those kind of cunts/people actually talk.
Like the thousand ways he said 'keep it....' when saying goodbye. 'Keep it dusty' had me in bits though - I mean, WTF?

I thought it was good. Not full of belly laughs or anything but very well observed, slightly surreal, wry comedy. I loved his office (the guy talking into a huge retro mobile phone wearing a fedora, sunglasses and bouncing on a trampoline ) and the new sugarape logo.

Yeah, I teach beginners and intermediates.
His missus/female friend was pretty good for her first time though - she was bashing the pads and he kept going flying

True
What was that they were saying..."it's well...[something]"
Was funny anyway. Morris is the surreal language master:
"its a travel tavern"
"I don't care what you call your sordid little grief hole"

"It's well futile"
and... "keep it foolish"
also " you pair of.... er...towels"
