Amos Oz - A tale of love and darkness

lovely stuff
I am reading The Line of Beauty by Alan Hollinghurst, a very fine writer he is indeed.
just read

Alan Clarke, Diaries: very entertaining and thought provoking (my main thought being - "how the fuck is this complete bastard managing to make me like him?").

The New York Trilogy, Paul Auster: excellent, excellent, excellent... loved it. I read it because I had read one of the trilogy (City of Glass) adapted as a graphic novel (which is fantastic btw)

Currently reading:

"Just the One: Wives and Times of Jeffrey Bernard" by Graham Lord - which looks to be a good read, already has had me chuckling in places.

Nearly finished:

On Religion by John D.Caputo. Fascinating account of religion & faith in the modern world. Apparently the author's fairly accomplished when it comes to wordly subjects. It really goes into depth about the relationship between God (varying) and love.

Just started:

Atonement by Ian McEwan. Was unable to put this down when I first picked it up, although the weekend interrupted me a little.
recently :

Sax Rohmer - The Fu Manchu Omnibus Vol5

Carol J. Clover - Men, Women and Chainsaws. Gender in the modern horror film

Oliver Harris (ed.) - The Letters of William S. Burroughs 1945-59
I usually have a few books on the go.

In the Heart of the Sea by Nathaniel Philbrick. A great historical book about the sinking of the Whaleship Essex in 1820.
Melville based the end of Moby Dick on it.

Gyo parts 1 & 2 by Junji Ito. Great Horror graphic novel about sharks with metal legs invading the land and killing everyone. Great!

It by Stephen King. I make no apologies about reading King. He's an incredible story teller.
ambient by jack womack on dodz's reccomendation - it's pretty good, although i've nearly finished it and i've no idea what to read next! i guess the advantage of moving in with the missus is that i can raid her book collection! quite fancy some burroughs methinks.... Chin

just finished 'the zap gun' - philip k dick (pick up one or two of his books every month secondhand)

'the boxer rebellion' - very interesting and topical historical account of the west's first multinational invaison of another country.. cant remember the author's name though...

'planet for the president'/'crossing the rubicon' - us conspiracy theories to wipe out the earths population. one fiction, the other non-fiction. one mildly entertaining, the other quite unconvincing...

buddha vol.6 - osamu tezuka. fictionalised account of the life of buddha by the god of manga. pure class.

caligula - robert graves: picked this up after reading the pocket penguin short. brilliant.

im currently reading:

initial d vol 1 -20: by the numbers street racing manga - but im addicted..

the mysterious flame of queen loana - umberto eco - seems like the real deal so far. loads of old skool illustrations in this - as a book dealer tries to recover his memories by delving into his own past.
