with a bad Flash BIOS ram module? got it on ebay a couple years ago, tried to install the new BIOS and corrupted the RAM module (by all accounts). prior to that it worked, but had no samples in it and no external drive (and presets had been erased). pretty sure it's got 256 mb ram, no internal drive. definitely a fixer but u can prolly hv it for a song - cleanin out me storage and it's bn packed and ready to go for, oh, 2 yrs Roll Roll

e6400 Ultra never had any sounds in it you know? It doesnt have sample ROM.
so it's broke?
@ scope - Oops well that explains the empty banks Hahaha Roll

@ chris - yeah, tis broke, but when i was tryin to get it fixed based on emusonacid advice, my impression was that i needed a new Flash ram module and then all wd be well. here's the error message i get on booting:

verifying csum: 0x08860e57
csum failed: 8862db2 8860e57
and, when prompted to try booting from flash, i get "invalid image in flash" and the sampler restarts.

if i try to update flash, i get an "erase error 0xfc000005, stop........" message.

the only repair hut in the States that cd supply that RAM insisted i send the unit in for a full inspection that wd hv run me more than the original cost of the unit. hence, it sat in storage for a couple years, and ive since gotten a lot more into weldin than music production Smile
