cranio Wrote:(this album) was released on flowmotion (flowmotion 003) in 1983 and in 1984 re-released on third mind records (tmlp 04) with a different front cover.

the download is the 1983 version. the re-release was actually changed a bit
for instance, more drums (and tabla as well i think) were added to the long percussion piece.

the cassettes are of the threepenny group
and also our earlier postpunk-industrial-dance-sortofthing band, tiab guls
there's no more metamorphosis stuff
apart from on the compilations mentioned on discogs, most of which i don't have

it was a Tascam 4-track reel-to-reel
I don't think samplers even existed back then Wink

exaclty it did confuse me at 1st or there may have been 1 available at the time but it would have been way beyond the means of ordinary beings.

Thought it might have been a cassette stylie 4track though Icon_eek

Were u guys cutting and splicing the reels then ?

it was £400-£500 I think

JayDoubleU Wrote:Were u guys cutting and splicing the reels then ?

no, just multi-tracking and bumping down
though the studio engineer did some splicing when we went in to get it all properly sorted

to be completely fair.....

I swore I read something on this forum about recording the sound of meat being slapped against sheets of metal. It was either Blue or Statto.

They're links to a blog. You have to go there, rather than download from the links direct.

Just found two more:

This is really old stuff which makes me cringe quite a bit. It also sounds like it was recorded in a cardboard box.
