please feel free.
If there was an emoticon to convey the mixture of shock, worry, despair and depression I'm feeling right now I'd have to post it about 328761348765 times.
Good lord. Fatboy Slim eat your heart out.
holy shit, they're not actually putting that out, are they?
I've no idea if it's actually coming out but it won the competition, had the most votes. To be honest if tunes as poor as that win the competition they should stop doing the comp in the first place.
Hmmmm

aye, was voting opened to the great unwashed? always a mistake

If this gets released... I'm considering melting my "In Rough Territory" LP to signify the death of 4Hero's sense.
I think it died years ago though when they were saying things like "we invented jungle"
.
cant be true
never ever let the public vote on something as important as music

I fully expected this, and yet it's still pretty horrifying to think this might be the first reinforced record in ages... I really hope Reinforced renegs on their deal and doesn't put it out. Reinforced has never been a label that's simply 100% about popular opinion, if they were they would have probably put out nonstop handbag anthems back in the day instead of pushing the envelope with crazy sounds... thus the whole "back 2 you" concept seems a bit off to me.
That said, could just be "sour grapes" that me +ddd didn't even place in the top 5, behind at least a track or two which I think we clearly had beat
meanwhile check out the track "chased by sun" by that kid who won:

Anyone know where that melody's from? Reminds me of some Venetian Snare song ("Dance like your selling nails") but I dunno if he sampled/plagiarized it from somewhere else?
I know that there won't be a single person on here that likes it so it could be perceived as a lot of miserable neeks whinging, but I just needed some comforting.
are you stimpy x nation (fairly obvious but 6 shots for a fiver at the local tonight)
good god that remixes pisses blood
i dont why i bothered
(never finished ut there you go)
is that getting a vinyl release on reinforced noe then?
ugh

I enjoyed it, for what it is - it's not unlike what a small number of artists have been doing on the dnb bootleg front for the last 2-3 years. Some are good, some are not - this one was ok, hardly groundbreaking but how many entries were going to be. At the end of the day, the bloke put in time and effort to remix the tune just like all the other entrants, so why the uproar when he wins via a public vote?

no idea where that riffs from, definatly the same as in the snares tune (which is a wicked tune by the way )
amazing if this is the first reinforced record for so long
they must have gone mad
the chase the sun melody and vocal together is ripped in its entirety from
http://www.discogs.com/release/47257
house record from 2001 - in the charts and everything
to be fair, shit sample pack
a loop called 'lfo.wav' which had a straight rip from err... umm...
i did a twisted breaky dubstep mix fwiw, prob had no chance, was hoping summat forward thinking was what they were after
public vote
big brother
press the red button (moron)
whats the point in owning a label if you let the public decide what you release ?

to be fair, and no offence, but as a producer it sounds like he sellotaped a couple of samples on a tune he had lying around.
I like to hear the SC entries myself....
listen to the bit near the end and tell me he wrote that on purpose
jehizuz krist
is any one who used to be good have any awareness anymore ???
im disapointed

Do you actually know anything about reinfirced, the history of the label and it's significance in bringing forward some of the most forward thinking innovative hardcore/jungle over the years. That's the thing that's upsetting. I know the guy put time and effort into it, tunes don't write themselves. It's just a disgraceful 'remix' and if it makes it to vinyl will be more than just the worse tune reinforced have released, more than just a change in direction for the label, it would be more than just selling out. It would possibly make me cry.
