Oi Ben - ain't shit wrong with the compressor! Dunno what people are moaning about. Every time I use it I get to know it a bit better. Just worked wonders on something here. Something about the attack on hw comps that gets you differently to most plugs... Bare snappy.

Next day edit - listening back and man, I really am in shock at how the richness comes through, even on mp3's. From a functional POV, being able to have the compressor ignore or respond more to two sweepable bands is both its hardest feature to get to grips with but unbelievably useful when you get it right. There's no oher way to get compression in that way, at least in any plugin I know of or have. It completely removed what had been a fairly significant problem with mastering a track where the (peaky) double bass and snare hit together occasionally, making it suck for a split second on those particular hits. I'd tried quite a few things before with no real luck, but it handled it easily

It is, yes, but people still moan about it. The more I use it, the more I like it. Two bands of sidechain action is - one to kill the sub in the sidechain, and one to kill other prominent bits, or maybe to accentuate say the snare in the sidechain to bring it out a bit. Fooking majestic.

Need to do some rerouting through the ADDA box to make better use of the preposterous amount of headroom it has - atm I am fighting to keep things under 0 when they come back in You just can't beat clobbering things into it!!
