my computer at home would not even load this morning!
all it would give me was an annoying beep beep beep.
I know enough to realize that this does not sound like a
good sign.
any ideas?
btw/ I'm running win2000 if that helps any
has one of the cards fallen out the bus?
nothing on screen at all?
sounds bad
nothing at all loads.
just the bleeps tune
mmm sounds shitty..................
try changing the graphics card for another one and check inside and make sure the cards, ide cables and memory chips are all in place...you never know...........
ez mate, have you checked the RAM if it's a steady beep it is normally ram, basically it's a motherboard problem, either something has broke or fallen out.
what chip is it... may have overheated.
best bet is to take everything out and put it in again one by one and see if it gets any further. ie take out the ram first and replace it with somedifferent stuff if you can (if not and you have 2 chips put one in then the other). same for gfx card net card cd drives, floppy etc etc etc. hopefully when you take something out it'll start working again.
weird! got home from work...tried starting it. got no response.
took the side off, unplugged it, ripped the ram out, popped it
back in and here I am.
wonder if this will be a re-ocurring problem or not?
anybody has any similar experiences?
probably the RAM was just poorly seated, and had gradually worked its way slowly out until the point where a vital contact was broken........
make sure the RAM is firmly in place seen!
yeah it's weird how even the slightest micrometer can effect this damned box in such a drastic way.
so far so good.
the joys of IT support (why i chose this as a career path i'll never know!)...
Anyway glad its sorted, like was said earlier chances are it has slowly worked its way loose, happens quite often on certain m'boards.
