'Sweet' Charles Sherrell is playing three exclusive shows at The Sugar Club on Dec 11th, 12th and 13th and is in high demand, as he has already sold out on Dec 12th, so get in fast if you want to catch this funk master for Christmas! Not just the bass player for James Brown, Sweets also wrote songs, sang and played keyboards. Playing on numerous recordings including âAin't it Funky Now', 'The Payback', 'Mother Popcorn' and 'Get on the Good Footâ, in 1974, he decided to go solo and released the highly lauded Sweet Charles For Sweet People album on Mr. Brownâs People Records. After completing this project Sweets was asked back to lead James Brown's band for almost 25 years.
