Any Reaktor Heads around these parts?

I've finally started looking at reaktor properly, just starting you understand.
I'm scrolling through the PDF manual, but I hate it, gonna print it out over the weekend.

Anyhou, I've attached screenshots of my first attempt at a synth.
It doesn't do much, and it sounds a bit rubbish, but for the most part it works.

I've added a LFO, with the intention of using it to modulate the first Oscillator.
It appears to work, but I can't adjust the rate, it doesn't change with the freq dial and the amplitude is stupidly loud, can't seem to adjust that either. Mad

anyone got any ideas?

please ask if anything looks particularly cryptic.

Cheers,

Paul. Grin
Absolutely no idea, although it probably sounds better than my first Reaktor synth... no way it looks as good though.

Eekldskool: Lol
Hahaha

deadly!
yours most likely sounds better too.
Man... I used to do all that, but I'll have to hav a think. Built stuff more complicated than that, but it was a few years ago...

Take your time, I would have thought the controls on the top left of the lower image, connected to the LFO would have done the job, but they don't.
Tiz a steep learning curve in reaktor.
what happens if you take the pitch mod completely out?
i think the key input into the pitch mod might be overloading the frequency control you want.
i remember when i wanted an lfo, i just used a normal oscillator and constrained the frequency (although my guess is their LFO control might use a smoother look up table for those slow frequencies Baffled ).

anyway, i need to get back into reaktor programming Smile
but the pitch mod is only a switch (bad labelling on my part) to select between the different wave types and the keyboard.

would that really make a difference taking it out?
I'll give it a shot and see what happens.
Just bought Reaktor for stupidly cheap the other week. Very happy. Mainly been rocking the BeatLookup. Much fun.

But I think I'll be sticking to the User Library for some time. Not quite up for all this patching business yet.

well in terms of debugging/learning it is always good to simplify, but a switch does sound relatively straight forward.
right, after much messing around, i've realised that that i needed to pay more attention to the volume controls for the oscillators. i'd set the range from 0 to 30, thinking it would map the gain across those figures, but it doesn't work like that.
i've changed them to -20 to 10 and things sound much better, i'd obviously had the gain of each one so high i couldn't hear the effects of the lfo.
still lots of work to do but it's a step in the right direction. Yes
sounds a little better now.

i hate pdf manuals.
cube,

I spit tea on my monitor from laughing.

came across this tutorial which might help:

Nice one!
been playing with this one too, it's pretty cool:

nice! i bookmarked that one as well. haven't had a chance to go over em yet tho. i have some ambitious ideas of synths i want to make, but need to get some of the basics first! :P
I'm currently trying to create a modulation matrix type thing similar to that in the Novation Supernovas.

So far I've got a mess o wires and routings, still a couple of things to sort out before I'll be happy with it though.

You get a decent work flow in Reaktor pretty fast IMO.
after you make mistakes that force you to delete 90% of your efforts because you forgot an element at the start a couple of times you get pretty strict about planning things out properly! Hahaha

It's all good though, like a giant electronic jigsaw that makes noises. Smile
