Earth wind and fire are one of my favorite bands. every album has at least a few stonkers on!
I just started listing tracks but realised it would be a massive list, so albums: Raise Faces Spirit Electric Universe I Am almost every track on those albums is golden! I have a bunch of their later stuff that ive not really got into yet, some interesting stuff though even with a more 'modern' sound. They also have a Bluray live with Chicago coming out soon, WANT! Ive just pulled out a bunch of rekids, trying to compile a tracklist for a mix now, will hopefully get to record it on friday night shame i have no earth wind n fire on vinyl and no cd decks ..prehpas ill splice some in in cubase or somthing
theres been no mention of the Gap band in this thread yet:

Despite the fact that I like Funk in general I am not much of an expert and I know only pretty mainstream acts like Earth Wind and Fire for example I might post some stuff in this thread as well.
Tracks and songs mostly I came across via going through old music mags searching for early house, electro and EBM. I'd like to start with this slow, superb electro-funkster: Zapp "Computer Love"

Salsoul was a great label. They put out many different styles too, among very very early rap.

Here's a seven inch I got very cheap from a charity shop. I didn't know who Joe Bataan was at the time and just bought it bc it was released by Salsoul.
