hades, the tune is crap - we all agree on that.
if he's still such a talent and had even a modicum of self respect he would have spent days on this 'official' remix, not 25 minutes.
furthemore, he clearly thinks very little of all the proper music fans who have followed him since day dot.
people can make money and still keep their integrity. blame has obviously decided not to.
More power to him, I want in on this money satchel....
If I could milk the R&B Cash cow I'd be up at 6am every morning churning out euphoric Drumble like a bad man.
lawrie.
i understand your passion, but if motown approached you and said thatthey wanted you to make a very catchy uptempo version of i want you back and they were paying you $$$$'s to do it, are you saying you wouldnt do it?
you dont know what his commitments were and how long motown gave him to do the tune for them.
we actually know nothing about this at all.
it is an awful tune...no doubt, but i bet it will outsell all dnb tunes that has been released this year or maybe even the past 10 years, because it has global cheese appeal.
i hate the tune
i hate what he has done to it
i DONT hate him taking motown for thousands.
its just a tune man...its rubbish...but...a'la pendulum, it could help bring more people into dnb...and that can only be good for the scene as a whole...all that needs to happen when these guys come over to dnb that they are quickly shown the door from this cheese dnb and pointed in what "we" feel is the right direction..a'la a dnb dictatorship
LOL
who's gonna be hitler and who will be pol pot?
lol
peas
Making shit tunes to get more people into 'teh scene' only makes things worse, cos producers in it for the money will then continue to make shit tunes.
It's shit like this that's making a mockery of 'teh scene'
perhaps he ascended to another level musically and we haven't caught up with him.
@hades: if someone is paying $$$$ for a track, that is even more reason to do a good job on it.
i look at it as a missed opportunity to educate mass audiences on how amazing dnb can be.
If you're just going to tack on a feeble drum break and a few sound effects and package it as 'dnb' then that's the impression people outside the scene will have of it.
When i mention to people outside the scene that i like dnb, i often have to break it down so as they don't assume off the bat that it's the Pendulum vibe.
Blame hasn't done anything of note since the KOTP tune he did back around 2001/2002 and his GLO album. I don't know what happened to the guy as he had such a visionary sound (The Sigma EP, Mechanism, etc).
I also don't mean to drag his name through the dirt. I respect him and miss his productions.
sooo, what happened to Blame?
And Shades of Rhythm nicked that vocal of another artist, who had nicked it from someone else!
oh and don't stress it.... he promised me he'll be fixing up next year lol!!!!
oh AND he had a wedding to pay for too.....
and didn't Skream or someone RMx lilly Allen or some shit??? what was that saying????
I thought this thread was a joke... but it's reality. I can't tell the difference anymore... lolx
I hope Blame still has it in him to write some tunes of the calibre of Sigma again..
