Impeccable selection and charming presentation by two lovely hosts, I want to hug them every time they happiliy stumble over a foreign composer's name or film title Lovesmilie

What lovely words Mr Nemo, thank you very much. I'm glad people seem to enjoy our little treehouse. You'll be pleased to know the German special is due next week at some point.

We now have a rather nice little YouTube channel where you can watch clips, trailers and songs from all the films and TV shows featured in the podcast.

Very nice episode, that German Special. A good amount of 'Schmuddelfilmchen', but what can you expect. Extra props for digging out 'Robbi, Tobbi und das Fliewatüüt' !Xyxthumbs
I'm curious about 'Nicht Schummeln, Liebling', the title seems to be a direct rip off of the West German film 'Nicht Fummeln, Liebling' from about two years earlier. The lyrics of the song in the podcast seem to hint at socialist worker propaganda for young people ('we can reach anything if we want, leave the lazy people behind' etc.), that would be the total opposite of 'Nicht Fummeln, Lebling', which is basically just about cool slackers doing nothing except hanging around and talking nonsense. If the GDR film is really a reply to that it's perhaps a rare example of the (to my knowledge) undocumented socialist exploitiation genre?
I haven't been around for a long while Unsane, so hadn't clocked these - they look fantastic!

On the d/l now.

Oh, and Wave VERY long time no see!
Hello Düffah, long time no see indeed!

Nemo, very interesting info there. I've not seen 'Nicht schummeln, Liebling', but from looking at all the pictures on the sleeve it looks like the story is about a girlfriend/Boyfriend on apposing football teams having to play against each other, hence the (bad English translation) 'No Cheating Darling' title. So as you point out, it could be a let's get out of bed and play football instead of slacking GDR response to the earlier West German film. I feel I need to look into this!

Regarding the use of Florida Fantasy on Wild Track:

"I haven't actually done some research, looked on youtube or something like that, I would have found out for sure."

"It wouldn't have been right to do research."

"No no no, you can't do research for these sort of things"
