We had the whole Zef thing a few months back

http://www.subvertcentral.com/forum/show...hp?t=51726

But check out what a mate just sent me (click on the links for previews) http://www.honestjons.com/label.php?pid=...elID=14815. Shangaan electro - its like a combination of Soweto street sounds and Booty bass or Juke. Absolutely crazy stuff.

Insane but endearing video here:

Then there's the whole SA house scene which is a lot like the electro end of UK Funky House crossed with Reggaeton style vocals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ah63vUw01aU There's a good compilation worth buying: http://worldmusiccentral.org/article.php/Ayobaness_South_African_house_music

I dunno really; it doesn't sound all that crazy to me
and especially not when they sing in English
Did you check out the Honest Jon clips? Its the combination of tempo and instrumentation that makes it seem crazy to me. The vocals are the most normal thing TBH.

a few of them; I enjoyed the first one Smile

but my enjoyment got progressively less as they all seemed much the same to me

sorry Fauxpas
Lol Thats OK Statto.
Thanks Droid, I quite enjoyed the stuff on the honestjons link.

Tune for me was Vana Vasesi but a special mention to rude boy in the last video, mostly for his trousers.
ah yeah someone pointed me to this stuff a little while back, looking forward to the inevitable dnb merge with it Smile
hmm, dunno. too much traditional vocals I think. the music also sounds a tad too general midi like to me Wink

interesting nonetheless, need to listen to a bit more.
Anymore for anymore? Want more stuff like this. Recommendations please!
