Been working on this one over the last couple weeks, really struggled with it for a while, had to rearrange it a buncha times, finally came up with a groove I was happy with. Started out with a halfstep feel but by the time I finished it, I think it sounds more like traditional techstep. Check it....

The other day I was trying to figure out how much time I've devoted to making dn'b. I've made around 150 tracks, I estimate I spend around 20 hours on each track, well probably more but I think that's a good estimate. Anyway, that comes out to about 3,000 hours, hence the name.
interesting track mike Xyxthumbs

I got the idea while reading this book called "This is your brain on music" which is written by a neuro-scientitst (a pretty good read). He talks about how the "10,000 hour rule" to acquire mastery at any given skill roughly applies to musical skills as well. He brings up the example of I think Mozart or Beethoven, saying that although he was making symphonies when he was a kid, they weren't great. Sure he showed potential but it wasn't until he had far exceed the 10,000 hour mark that his compositions finally sounded, well, masterful. I guess i got a ways to go!

fuck....
