Falcon

so I was surprised to be given a couple of Alpha Omega ids recently! Falcon

Quite surprised as not really the type of sound I generally associated with him - turns out one of the ones in my ids thread (over here) is "Payback"

and another, at id084 B - is "Feedback"!

>> dnb-id084.mp3

Which leads me to wonder if maybe the first track in the clip is him also? which does have kinda the sound I'd more expect from him... in fact not sure why I didn't think this before

Definitely interested to hear some more stuff from him now.

any way to get the man on board to check?

He has a Facebook page as Nubian Mindz , might try it there.

And the very first tune I ever heard from AO:

Slayer

So damn dark, so damn heavy!

Ahh yes, off the album. One of the choice tracks imo

Another I really like is "Sun People" - but i gotta say, somehow the downtempo mix on R Sound manages to top it!! Icon_eek

any more recommendations to listen to?

My favourite non-dnb AO/NM track is 'Terra Unborn' from the 'Electronic Experiments' CD-R.

I have almost all the AO Jungle vinyl between 1996 and 2002 and I say, pretty much all of it is killer material.

He was a heavy weight, indeed.

Can't say much about the Nubian Mindz output, haven't heard much of it.

He also did tracks with Marc Mac (I think) as 'Special Touch' on Reinforced. The double vinyl E.P on that was wicked. I think he's a totally underrated producer - my fave stuff is under the Nubian Minds moniker. he released a Nubian Mindz album on Archive which is great and he released a few 12" with them too. He's released on so many different labels....

Also, if anyone's interested there is a really good interview on him and other Jungle DnB producers on a dissertation produced by Jason Os - haven't got the link to hand but I've read bits and pieces of it, it's like 400-500 pages long, and it's brilliant - really goes in depth. With a lot of people that write books about Jungle and stuff, there's not much depth at all - this thing by Jason Os is the total opposite of that, very informative!

But yeah getting back to Alpha O etc... one of my favourite releases is the one he did on Disko404, the A-side is a killer alongside the SC Vol 3 release (goes without saying Smile )

wow that Disko404 release is real nice!! almost tempted to buy the 12" of it at £18

I was hoping for some more d'n'b recommendations of him though Xyxthumbs

Seems a lot of the vids in this thread are down. No idea what that first one was, but there's been Electro Cyanide, Visions, Special Touch - Emotions and Tribalist

Any more suggestions? The Deep Cover EP on reinforced seems a must have, will bag that esp. considering the peanuts its currently going for

Depends if you don't mind hard and banging stuff. I have several of his tracks on wax from around 2000-2002, and most if it was pretty darn hard n heavy.

This one totally escaped me up until now. Great track by AO:

Yeah that's a good track mate. An oldie from 2004 on Forestry Service.
