Thanks for it!
I've been neglecting this thread lately which is a shame. There are some interesting recommendations here.
New Longformacus drone: "Poached Egg"

That volume of drones on the previous post link is now substantial enough at 7 hours passive listening. 8 hours active if you count the offline bonus Track. Thanks for the nice times and beer after work. I plan to work on the second volume of the music in Autumn to next Summer 2018. The strictly drones Longformacus project has the highest replies to views ratio from my family. Must be well liked then.

To update you, I have received my crate box from American customs of 100 Important Records label compact discs. Only one of 100 I already have package of but this pressing is recognisable as different from my original copy. The drones are in an altered mode, phygrian instead of aeolian - floaty instead of maudlin all the way through. Now I'm playing my first of 99 purely unheard pressings, a Chord Progression disc by a collection of artists on the label. It's superb.

While I'm satisfied with the protection and delivery time, I'm totally dissatisfied with America's absolutely awful shipping fees of 39 dollars cut off per half a kilogram. 100cds in a padded cardboard box sent overseas weighs 308 ounces approx - over 5kg - so if you also got in a private flap to John and Maurice of Important over this, remember: they're making the biggest loss liquidating their stock for a higher cost than you pay by miles. Just think, what is 5kg of shipping worth at least when it costs 39 dollars to send half a kilo? 78×5=390 dollars. And they only charge the UK buyers 125 dollars plus customs for this particular tiered deal...
Before I update this thread with a spiel on Cicely Irvine, I'm listening to the Moods compilation and hoping God out there will make life easier for all of us ambient lovers. The music's putting my mind in a safeplace.
Fluid Radio www.fluid-radio.co.uk

Ambience is always passive listening - it never leaves that zone entirely. The main reason it becomes active is volume, intruding into the story. In Cicely Irvine's record presented here from the great Eilean Rec, passive listening is pooled with gradient rises from instruments entering the narrative zone.

What separates and makes Irvine's work successful is it's plentitude of positive instrumental guises. Early in the album soft tones and chinking machinery caress the listeners ears with a quiet luminosity. The drones stretch, fold together and sway. Mostly, it's a consonant and makeshift listen. I really love it. But, the thing I really really love is the occasional female mezzo-soprano chorality of voice on some of the opening chapters to the melee marquee.

And when the brief discordant synthetic interlude intrudes, the piano then takes centre stage in the centre of the hall. Then a guitar enters the fray, a heavy-breathing onyx of a sharp tooth in the Lps crown. You'll notice I'm commenting on a track by track basis instead of using just names. This is because putting titles to music defeats the object of the artist having a considered objective. Also, some are in a different language.

We digress here. But digression is a godsend - too much too soon, it's never enough, take the long way home; a point gained is a point earned. The dreamy progressive-house tones that seem plucked from melodic births in a general triptych function toward different genres other than electroacoustic...This cognition is decisively typical of many ambient and electroacoustic records. It's also a concluding way of emphasising, the brilliance shown by this long Cicely Irvine album, ended all too soon. Still it remains a beautiful enveloping message.

Hey FL (friends lovers) fans

I am happy to share these tracks with you.

I was going to include "Will I Find My Love", a piano vocals and synth PR. But it's a bit woe is me.
So no to that. This is a £5 priced release with all proceeds going towards either Band Camp or Mickey.

U know, when u think about contriving stuff, contrivance becomes something hardly ever worth it.

Unlike the emotion of forcing stuff, which means it "has to be worth it", the act of contriving stuff, I find, creates less complex and sinewy works.

Not as tender, they are also, like the joke Alan Partridge title, "offensively dull" pieces of art, which does not reflect on the music's character.
Convivial stuff is what I was looking to release, and I feel fabulous now.

new magix guitar piece today added to "set pieces" - 7 minutes of arpeggio scaling in slow-motion. also a £10 DVD of the long line discography, incarcerated at 80 public releases stage and 90 released records with diy music making by Mick Buckingham.
some ambient and some not so ambient...

GalatiMosconi new review of a collaboration, and my two-hundredth review article for the www.fluid-radio.co.uk website, online soon. Smile
In good reportage, I shall be reviewing a Date Palms related record in the interim of Autumn to Winter months on Fluid Radio. One half of the duo is Marielle Jakobsons, the other is Gregg Kowalsky. Just got given a watermarked promo from Kate Price who reps him. It's a bit of a wonderful day today. Grin
Check out the Astral Industries label, quality every time.

I audithoned a hearing of the band Columbia Nights on Bandcamp. "In all things vol.1" is an ambient pop offering in the lineage of Jon Tejada.
Remember the classic "Just Another Day Without You".
Hi Mike, good to hear from you mate!
Listening now. Deep soundscape, very similar to Mick Harris of Napalm Death's work as Lull (ambient project on Glacial Movements). I'd love to release it if it was unsigned - let me know if a slot on my Bandcamp page appeals. That's for the Foci's Left label with guest appearances from many artists on comps etc.
Thanks for the free music, I appreciate it.

Someone on Bandcamp.com described this pre-order as gay and amazing. I'd agree. Really happy and delightfully queer. Reminds me of Styrofoam and some of the Broderick families vocal affectation.
It's always inevitable to find an artist reinventing oneself when the music press 3 year machine treads a new path. Trends come and go, but unless you do the pop side, we don't care about popularity in the ambient scene.

EtherPad Is a mobile phone application for Android and ios. In the program, a small amount of patches - three sinewaves - can be used, manipulated, disseminated, and shifted with the mobile phone's touch screen. They all have different sounds and tonalities to the timbres, which makes them exciting. Octaves are -2 to +2. All scales are included.

A possible downside is the app does not have any advanced functions like looping and effects modules. It is a straight up soundscape editor, with the ability for you and I to export our sounds through cabling and/or recording devices. And I like it like that. But for drifting off to sleep to the created real-time sounds, one needs to have a recording of the material. One needs captured work in order to have a constant insomnia aid.

This is the first demo with the application, available for free indefinitely from my Bandcamp page. Find EtherPad with a Google Play app store search on your Android and ios phone.

This work sets up the "Entropic Amusement Park"...  more

UUUU - 2017

I had obtained a download from Deleted Scenes, Forgotten Dreams for the first UUUU album, typified in style by the woozy "Falling Into Lucidity". I really liked the track, and the dynamic krautrockish scope of the project fits perfectly together on this new 2017 record. It's typified by slamming cymbals, delightful organ playthangs and a jolly rotten dose of feedback. Yet at the albums core is an amazingly coherent rockism that forfeits anticlimactic torpidity. In it's place, a lather to rival Faust and Can.
most recent fl music is a guitar based sequel to "the vignette dairy farm", with samples from box nation cable television channel in the atmospheres.

about
a lot of care has been put into the pleasantness of this guitar record.

so there are no harsh dips or funny noises, the recording is mastered well.

as a mentally ill musician approach I to trial new plugins if you are willing to share demonstration versions. I get a lot of free stock from kv-r audio but I am always looking for more delays, reverbs and synthesiser vsts to use. I don't need to be paid, I don't need more music. that's plentiful.

particularly mobile android apps atm and the sts type of hardware software.

cheers.

thank you Annastay and my family for keeping my soul and spirit alive.

about
made by michael robert buckingham on 15102017 on a korg triton and digital voice recorder.

tyranitar is my fave Pokemon of all time. it is a dark rock type of pokemon. it first was known in pokemon silver by me.

rumour has it there was a wild tyranitar in each game, which is the way i caught it. i then bred a stronger female to battle.

this was the product of catching a larvitar (female) in the cavern near the mountainous end path to pokemon silver.

i then bred this with the level 55 (caught at level 47, close to 52, which is also the evolution level from pupitar) tyranitar.

pupitar is like bug metapod, but just a rock type with very high defense and special attack. it evolved and over-doubled its hp.

tyranitar back then had a maximum of 808 hit points, which is what my level 100 friend grew to. i had so much fun in... stadium.

he (and she) has my favourite skill set. able to learn fire blast, iron tail, dark pulse - and my favourite silver move, crunch.

crunch was only able to be learnt by 2 pokemon in silver and (gold) - houndoom and tyranitar. houndoom had an average of base hp.

what i mean by that is, a dark type with the same strength as the original starting pokemon you begin with in each edition.

tyranitar is able to be far stronger, a real soft-hearted bruiser of a pokemon if you treat it right.

i am unsure if in the brand new (tested for 3 months by me) pokemon moon (or inverted time sun) games tyranitar will appear.

at present, there are lots of dark type (pure dark, the closest to normal paradoxically) in the alola starting regions.

"pokemon fave evolution ep" is designed to reflect all these sentimental nerdy memories that have been bubbling away until now.

i hope you enjoy it. Grin
