bobule Wrote:just got mine Roo, took a while as they are in demand but DSI pulled one out of the bag for me. Am stoked to see my presets in the factory banks! The synth itself is a beauty with all that wood!

Aye, I love my Pro 2. Which presets are yours? Got to admit, although some are really good, I play the user bank presets once then overwrite usually. And yeh, I have read they are selling out quite fast in various places.

DSI also were kind enough to retweet a track I made mostly on the Pro 2, the one that's currently in the Beat Ranch, "Charlie Twenty-One" Smile
a Korg M50, price was so good it had to be done

Sold / selling the lot (equates to 2 synths!!). I'm done with it for the time being.

SammichSID is staying, in it's unbuilt virgin state Wink
Korg X5DR - mainly so I could stick JayBs trance sound set on it. Completely changes the character of it, like having a car radio sized Vengeance rompler.
I offloaded my CZ5000, and got my SY35 back out of storage - forgot it has aftertouch.

bought an mpc as a sequencer mainly, but sampler also. new centre of the setup. and a new (old) DAT machine. £1300 in the day, now £40 delivered #obsolete #soundamazingtho
Which mpc?

MPC1000. Really like it so far, lots to learn but seems pretty intuitive. I was feeling really limited with the 1 bar loops of all the xoxes, as fun as that is. And just got the akais/emu out again, but a pain to sequence. So this should ideally cover all bases.

which one was it you had? youve had so much stuff! Hahaha

although, i must confess i just this second bought a memory man deluxe... Oops

Teef

A box arrived today, many thanks !

Will pm you re the rest. Smile

Nice one man, many thanks.

You dont want a bugbrand ucrusher or a roland r8 do you? Wink (or anyone else for that matter).
still have the custom 2000XL - although it's being used as a paperweight more than an MPC.

is your R8 a mkII, and does it have any rom cards?
done
mk1, with power drums usa card. not as bad as it sounds!
not sure, I'm eyeing up an Integra-7 atm so I might pass.

What I'm really after is a new tower with either a RME, Lynx or UAD2 card beating within - my big studio laptop has finally given up the ghost. I'm back down to running V-Producer and VariOS on a bastardised Win 2000 Dell, with the M50 as my main board. Reluctantly, I might have to sacrifice either the Karma or G2 engine (or both) to begin construction.

Elektron Monomachine MkII UW+
Boss SD-1 pedal

decided to give the Monomachine another chance, with the Machinedrum to complement it.
SY35 controlling it, hoping to get some good results

Ooh i fancy a mchinedrum...
Enjoy the MnM Chris - also let me know when it arrives Xyxthumbs
^ despite earlier scathing reviews of the Mk I, the Mk II has been a much better experience. Sounds a bit better than I remember, though I suspect that this is not actually the case. Some niggles are the same (large sweeps almost impossible without twisting your wrist off), but the FM and SID engines seem brighter this time. Having a control keyboard helps for easier noodling prior to programming the sequencer, just trying to see if I can assign the SY35 joystick to something globally although I suspect not.

MD though is bloody awesome - it's so good. Fun fun fun fun fun. I will be transferring some 727, RZ-1 and 626 percussion over to the UW and then it should be perfect...

picking up a Korg DS-8 near work on Monday

I thought you were clearing out Hahaha #incorrigible

I just bought a kiwi patch editor for the Kiwi modded JX3p - finally can use the thing, and my word sounds amazing.

Also ordered a very basic oakley modular system to get me going, going to build the rest myself...

You do know you can press down on the knobs to get a fast sweep?

Missing it over these darker nights already! I don't suspect I'll be sans Electron goods for too long in life Lol

I did work that out a little while back, but its still a bit fiddly for my fat fingers. I did find the manual you printed out, and I think I found a menu on my travels where I can change the knob resolution.

It was a very good price, and very local to work... you'd do the same. Anyway, the DS-8 is crazy, it has it's own agenda regardless of what you tweak.

I have nothing (surplus) left, I've offloaded all my modules and the KARMA sold this morning.

yeah, ive been looking at a ds7/ds8 ... nice synths. Xyxthumbs

And yes youre right, i would grab. Im glad im out of london, there will always be something somewhere to grab Teef

Someone seemed quite keen on the AX73, but he seems to have disappeared again Baffled

After that im going to get hte modular rolling...
that Oakley modular looks like an enclosed unit, all complete - I suppose that's safer than from scratch.
Saying that, I am tempted by the modular route - a digital modular sounds pretty sweet to me. I like the look of a couple of digital oscillators like Mutable Instruments Braids, or the Morphing Terrarium by Synthesis Technology. To be honest I like the look and sound of most of the Mutable Instruments modules, but there are so many makes and modules I wouldn't know where to begin. The G2 Engine is kind of my cop-out, at least I wont go mental for modules with that...yet.

I was missing my Yamaha 4-op FM, so picked up a YS200 today to go with the Korg DS-8. Spent most of tonight programming basses on it.

Yeah, i have started building some diy modules, but hard to test without any other known working modules, so getting a super basic vco>vcf>VCA+Env on the go so i can at least have an sh09 type thing, and add to it at my own pace.

I just grabbed a roland sde330 and a srv330 for £127 on ebay! 0 feedback newb, so will see how it goes, but ive chatted to him so seems legit. Nice! Got too many effect processors now tho...
