yes this picture was it. the only ones that make sense are night bus (ok what is this about?) and possibly vaporwave

but its not really anything new, is it? the beatport crew must be doing it for a laugh and promotion.

and theres no point in callin somethin future music cuz' as soon as its made its in the past

btw love the sloth in space

ok im done, im gonna go make some future buswave

A classic (the original)! That is a seriously dope remix! ^^^

lowercase...
ok.. here's my beef with the plethora of new genres coming out... why are they mostly 2 - 3 minute radio length format whatever?

and a lot of them are just one loop;

rise < loop loop loop loop loop loop loop loop loop loop loop loop loop loop loop > breakdown

they never seem.. complete. i guess if your looping in traktor its useful... maybe its a direct result of computer dj's needs over traditional non sync button / loop mixing.
ok lowercase, i think i get you. italicize, not capitilize

yeah I agree Ian

I shouldn't complain
my frustration stems from not being creative enough to make a new genre of music Teef

buswave man, buswave..... im gonna do it (whatever that is)
take vengaboys - venga bus

reverse it, bounce it out

make a new project at 70 bpm

load in your reversed venga bus

chop it up.

..

add amens.
i get a rush whenever Im working on a track and think "Holy shit, this would be awesome with amens"

Usually I'm wrong. Neutral

this, however, could not fail.

5 years from now there will be college courses so you can learn to create genre names like a pro. Or, in the vernacular, like a boss.

Breaking it down. These are ones I have no idea or can barely guess at. Most seem like international, cultural genres. Wait, these can't be real.

If anyone actually knows this shit and cares to enlighten me that would possibly be nice.

HiddenSound Wrote:If anyone actually knows this shit and cares to enlighten me that would possibly be nice.

cordani Wrote:Aquacrunk - also called wonky sometimes
Bhangra - popular punjabi music
Braindance - what rephlex called their music (cylob, aphex twin, ...)
Chanson - french folk
Crossover - everything between early red hot chili peppers and rage against the machine
Eski - grime sub genre
Fado - portugese folk music
Favela funk - brasilian favela hiphop
Gnawa - traditional african islamic ritual religious music
Gstanzl - must be austrian
Humppa - finnish polka
Hymn - pretty self-explanatory
Klezmer - european jewish folk music, often influenced by early jazz
Ländler - popular swiss folk music
Lied(er) - german name for 'song(s)'
Lift music - elevator tunes? - probably
Negerpunk - woah, where's this from?! direct translation from german: 'negropunk', but it's even more rascist, almost like 'niggerpunk'
Qawwali - sufi ritual and spiritual music, mostly punjab
Schlager - german pop music, roughly. but worse.
Schranz - hard techno
Sichuan - isn't this a chinese province?
Soca - caribbean music originaly from trinidad and tobago
Zouk - fast carnival-like music from martinique and guadeloupe, mostly with west african influences

you're welcome Icon_razz Wink
I am enlightened! Thank you!

Clownstep. I don't like clowns so I don't think I want to know.
